Editorial Review for [hus] a scandinavian store – by Brian Merchant
In Short
This Scandinavian fashion hub in the West Village offers everything from hip men and women's labels such as Filippa K and Nudie to wine glasses, dining sets and jewelry. Here, Scandinavian craftsmanship rules; products are stark, stylish and functional. This applies as much to the wool pea coats, knitted V-neck sweaters and handmade ties as it does to the watches, bracelets and tableware. The spacious store--decorated in solid colors with few adornments--allows shoppers to comfortably peruse in an unassuming, mellow atmosphere.

So I was walking around in the west village and went in to this new store called hus. I bought a Filippa K black and white, chiffon dress, (absolutely gorgeous). I can't even begin to describe how lovely this dress is. Everyone in the store were really helpfull and friendly, I ended up chatting with the owner (who's danish) for a while. The other day I brought my boyfriend over (who hates shopping), and he got a Tiger Of Sweden suit. Sooo excited!!! Everything in the store is scandinavian and they carry everything from music, to clothing, to toys. I LOVE this store, go check it out!!!
Pros: Not too expensive, really fun stuff, great service!!!

Anyone who's ever been to a Scandic country knows the people are not just good looking but also very trendy and very friendly. I walked past Hus, a new store specializing in all things Scandinavian recently and discovered it embodies everything that is great about the Scandic culture. The styles are unique and cutting edge so if you really want to separate yourself from the NYC crowd you definitely need to shop there. I've bought three dress shirts there and keep getting compliments everytime I wear them. The store is also wonderfully designed (like a swedish spa almost) and the staff is very friendly and not invasive at all. If you're like me and like to get away from the Old Navy's and Gap's of the world and find out what truly makes NYC great (the diversity), then you need to check this place out. I know I'll be returning.
Pros: Unique Scandic Styles, Diversity of products, Great service, great atmosphere
Cons: none
