“The pinup theme is alluring without being obnoxious, the decor is classy without being snotty, and (by Manhattan standards) the drink prices are good.”
“work in an industry that allows me to sample some of the best, new hot spots, and many times I'm left feeling blah about the experience-pretentious doorman, overpriced & watered down drinks, and a space filled with way too many pretty people.”
“The bartender (I don't remember his name but he has a mohawk and said he works there sundays & mondays) made us delightful cocktails, some with egg-whites, some with basil and jalapeno or you can just tell him what flavors your like and he'll make you a c”
“They have an eclectic and unusual selection of drinks at good prices.”
“From the laid-back attitude of the staff to the great drink prices, NB hits the bulleyes as a new fresh place to frequent.”
“Service is very attentive & friendly.”

Nurse Bettie has spicy ginger martinis, refreshing cucumber margaritas, and devilish Wednesday and Thursday night burlesque. Pinups line the walls of this 1950s Bettie Page-inspired bar, and gorgeous mid-century vintage furnishings give you a resting spot amidst the fratboy-ridden Lower East Side.
Great LES spot. Had a birthday party here last week. Great time. Stafff is cool. great drinks. I think what i like most about this place is that it has tons of style but no attitude. One my new favorites in the city.
Young and Good-Lookin'!. I was hoping this bar would remain my own little secret, but it looks like I'll have to share . And why not? The decor is effortlessly gorgeous and the staff are some of the sweetest, funniest people ever. And they really seem to enjoy being there. None of that pretentious attitude that you get at some of the other newish places in the area. Even the doorguy/bouncer is a fine and entertaining gentleman. Everything about this place is cool and comfortable. Try the Au Pair (a pear-infused vodka martini). It's just what the Nurse ordered!
Cool and classy.. In a land of trendy pretense and overpriced nonsense, this place stands out as an oasis of quiet cool. The pinup theme is alluring without being obnoxious, the decor is classy without being snotty, and (by Manhattan standards) the drink prices are good. Even though it's a small place, it doesn't seem to get horribly packed. The women behind the bar are very easy on the eyes, and wickedly hilarious as well. Tip big and stay on their good side.
Sexiest bar in the LES.
I LOVE this bar.
Great space, even better specialty drinks, and the sweetest bartenders in the city.
I fell in love with their cute DJs too. Fleetweek Fridays are always a blast.
You have to try the Bazooka Bettie. I had a super fun time at Nurse Bettie this past Wednesday night. great decor...great lighting, nicest bartenders and great drinks (cheap too, $5-$9). There is nothing divy about this place. The old 50's bar stools and the pin-up art, and the great drinks made this gem my new favorite bar.
