Melani is a complete and utter angel.. Melani is a complete and utter angel.

I've never met anyone with a more warm, caring, and peaceful nature - instantly looking at her upon my first appointment instilled me with a sense of ease and anticipation for the healing that was about to take place.

I was in a horrible and terrible physical and mental state when my mother first looked up acupuncture offices in New York City and saw that Melani was overwhelmingly recommended on a variety of social media and Google. She called her personally to give her some background on my situation and Melani expressed an interest and a conviction that she could help this stranger's daughter despite never having met her and all other medical treatments appearing hopeless.

Right before I came to the city I started experiencing IBS symptoms due to anxiety, stress, possible adrenal fatigue, and general recovery from an eating disorder years ago that had left my body and mind in tatters. Nothing seemed to help: my family doctor tried and failed to treat me and didn't even seem to know how to ease my pain and discomfort. I was constantly exhausted, dehydrated, and rapidly lost weight despite the massive amounts of food I was eating (I was starving at all hours of the day no matter when I ate.) My skin was dry and flaky, my eyes were dark and constantly red-rimmed, and I generally felt dis-eased, exhausted, and severely anxious about how nothing seemed to help. All my doctor could say was to take Immodium after every meal and try to sleep more!

I came to Melani in the absolute worst physical condition I've ever been in my entire life. I had one session a week, and within two weeks my constant diarrhea and bloating started drastically improving, along with my anxiety, sleep patterns, and energy. She listens - really listens - to any and all concerns and makes sure to get the broad picture of health before targeting immediate problems, working her patients into eventual and total health.

I've never experienced the depth of such care. I can't believe where I am eight weeks later: digestively stable, at a healthy weight, and energized to continue on my path to total wellness.

I'll forever be indebted to Melani, and I can't recommend her enough as a miracle-worker and trusted acupuncturist.

Pregnancy relief--both physical and mental!!. I came to Melani at the very beginning of my 3rd trimester. At that point, I was experiencing some anxiety and my back was beginning to hurt. After several sessions with Melani, I am happy to say that my anxiety level has decreased significantly and my back pain is gone. On one occassion, I woke up one morning with terrible sciatica in my left leg--I could barely walk and was in a tremendous amount of discomfort. I called Melani and she was so accomodating. She fit me in for later that afternoon and there was instant relief after the session--it was amazing!

I thoroughly enjoy my sessions with Melani and she really has relieved me from a lot of the "inconveniences" of pregnancy. She always sits down with me at the start of each session and really listens to me and wants to know what I'm feeling. Each session is specifically tailored to what's going on with my body at the time of the visit. I would also like to note that I have been to several acupuncturists and one thing I noticed with Melani is that she has such a light touch. From what i've experienced with some other acupuncturists, there definitely is a "no pain no gain" attitude. With Melani, there is definitely no pain and I am proof that there is lots of gain!!!

Knowledge and Support. Three years ago I was having problems staying pregnant. I would have positive pregnancy tests for a week, two weeks or longer and then soon I would get my period. These "chemical pregnancies" were very frustrating to my husband and I and my Dr's advice was to only to "keep trying".

I felt like there was more I could do to create an atmosphere in my body that would hold a pregnancy. I met with Melani and was instantly reassured that I was on the right track and there was in fact, more I could do. I tracked what was going on in my body, took herbs, did acupuncture treatments and very soon I was pregnant and now have 2 year old.

I did not do acupuncture when trying for another child and unfortunately, I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks.

After seeing Melanie again and resuming treatments I was delighted to become pregnant again and now I am 20 weeks along. I believe discussing my weekly concerns and receiving relaxing acupuncture treatments has helped to maintain my pregnancies. I can say her knowledge of my issue and support has helped me immensely.

Pregnant with Acupuncture. Thank you soooo much for everything. The acupuncture treatments and your counseling definitely helped me so much. You gave me the confidence and reassurance I needed when certain medical doctors didn't.

I can't believe I'm pregnant .... I definitely have faith and trust in your acupuncture treatments.

Beautiful Baby Girl. I had a lot of trouble keeping pregnancies, and subsequently, getting pregnant. When I came to Melani, I was exhausted and losing faith. She was incredibly constant, steady and intuitive in her perspective and in her prescription of herbs and acupuncture. I particularly appreciated her willingness to be open to our pursuing IVF. I found all that she gave us to be absolutely instrumental in our carrying our incredible baby girl to term.

Melanie is a great practitioner. We'll be going back when we're ready to try for another baby.

Acupuncture helped so much. I have been seeing Melani for a number of reasons; relief with stress, depression, anxiety and IBS. It has been about

5 months now and she has helped me tremendously. My anxiety is almost non-existent. My IBS problem is SO much better and I just feel good. Thanks Melani for all your help!

Peaceful birth. I could never say that the acupuncture took the pain away in the same was that I imagine an epidural would. And, Melani never claimed that it would. An unmedicated birth is an intense experience. But, it was most definitely a much more pleasant experience than my previous births when it was just me and my husband with a labor nurse and almost constant monitoring and checking.

My Mother, who was there the whole time, has five children of her own and was present at the birth of three of her grandchildren, was amazed. She said that she could never have imagined such a beautiful and peaceful birth. Which is exactly how I felt. It was beyond anything I could have imagined for myself.

Easy labor. I was induced on Tuesday and despite being prepared for the worst (!) I progressed quickly and had an easy labor and delivery (pushed for just 17 minutes)! I credit Melani with that! Last week was a stressful time and she was very kind and reassuring.

Acupuncture for IVF - totally relaxing. I had previously had acupuncture with a different therapist, however, even though said she had experience with infertility and IVF, during the course of my treatment and our conversations it became apparent that she was not as well versed as she claimed. Hence my switching to Melani, the difference was like night and day. Melani has received extensive training in all things relating to fertility and womens health including acupuncture during childbirth. Her experience and depth of knowledge was very apparent during my treatments. She had in depth knowledge of the medical procedures I was going through and the drugs I was on and knew exactly what specific acupuncture treatments I needed to do to aid my body. I am now blessed with beautiful twin boys!

The acupuncture was also extremely relaxing for me. I would drift off into a meditative state that I am not normally able to achieve. I felt fantastic after each session. So aside from any of the health benefits, anything that can facilitate an IVF patient relaxing twice a week and help them get through it all, can only be a good thing!

Irregular Periods. Melani has literally healed a troubling condition I had of totally imbalanced menstrual periods. The endocrinologist and two gynecologists whom I saw had NO solution for me, except to cover up the problem with birth control. They are amazed at my recovery completely using acupuncture and herbs.
