Fantastic Salon!

I was so happy to find Selah Salon and was especially happy in having my hair cut by Maria. My hair is very long and very thick and while I liked having long hair, it was very blah. Maria took one look at me and said that I looked like a college study and took my hair into her extremely capable hands.
First of all, she actually took the time to play with my hair to get a feel of it. Most stylists are quick to send you off to the shampoo station and then just start attacking with scissors. I eventually did make it to the shampoo station, where the shampoo girl was very gentle and gave a great scalp massage. Back to the chair I went and Maria started her magic. She cut my hair that not only highlighted my facial features but also she kept the length while taking off the weight. She kept checking to make sure that my hair was "connected" - front to the angles, angles to the back. I walked out of the salon with a great cut that even my husband loved and just boosted my confidence.
Maria was also very polite. She was training a new stylist and asked me if she could use me as an teaching aid which I did not mind at all. I actually learned something in the process! I can't wait to go back and let Maria take a stab at coloring my hair!
You would be crazy not giving Selah a chance.

Great Men's Haircut!

Being new to white plains, finding a hair salon i'd really enjoy wasnt high on my priority list - but stumbling across Selah Salon was a great experience. Conveniently in downtown white plains, this unique setting really adds charm and character to getting a haircut.
They were very accommodating to my busy schedule, even when running a little late - and after a long day at work, being offered a beer was a great plus.
Maria really knew her stuff - knew how my hair grew, what it needed to keep it under control. I'm very critical with those cutting my hair, but she really knew what she was doing and did it well! I'm very pleased, and can't wait to go back for another haircut, or even a drink one night.
- Pros: Great service, in a great setting, and easy to get to!
- Cons: Didn't find them sooner!

Salon Selah is the best!

I have very dark brown hair and wanted to go blonde. Maria suggested we start at the beginning of the year and every few months we go lighter. Suggesting a gradual color change would not ruin my hair and over process it. I am almost at the end of the process and could not be any happier. They are a fantastic bunch at the salon that always will stop and take a minute to say "hello". I will never go elsewhere.
