Editorial Review for Delluva Vinotherapy Day Spa – by Erin Behan
In Short
It's called vinotherapy, and this highly focused spa runs with the theme--especially in the waiting room with its lit-up wine bottles, the wine barrel product displays and Riedel glasses for sale. Burgundy- and chocolate-colored treatment rooms are the heart of the spa, where grape is put to use in many soothing forms. Save waxing, every treatment--facials, manicures, pedicures, massages--incorporate the antioxidant-rich plant. Perhaps the most exotic is the hydrotherapy barrel bath, where red grape skin extract is added to a hot, bubbly whirlpool.

I recently went there with 14 girlfriends for a bridal party, I arrived a little late for a massage. They would not try to move the schedule around with one of the other girls who had a massage later than I did for me to have a treatment... so I asked if I could get another treatment, perhaps a manicure or pedicure they also could not accomodate me for that either.. at the end of the day after 13 out of 14 girls received treatments and paying over $2,000. they decided that they had to charge me $60 for a treatment I did not receive. When I called a week later to see if I there was anything they could do, the answer was NO!!!! This place obviously, needs to learn a little more customer service... I would never go back or recommend this place to any of my friends..... They decided that $60 is more important than to have any of us back for any future Spa days.
Pros: There is room for improvement
Cons: Bad customer service

this place is freaking amazing. i saw sophie (sophia?) for highlights (50% off through lifebooker!!!!) and am more satisfied than i could ever imagine. i'll admit it: i orginally came here because of the good deal. but now i will absolutely be a loyal customer for as long as i live in nyc. sophie was really cool (read: trendy, but not so much so that she'll give you a crazy cut 'for fun'), listened to what i wanted, and did an amazing job. she's incredibly personable and enromously talented--i went in there with a clear idea of what i wanted (blonder, warmer highlights that complements my skin), and she gave me exactly that, adding in a few touches that made me look so much better than what i orginially requested. sometimes you can't really put what you want 'into words'............well, she must be a mind-reader and i am totally grateful. there was absolutely no sales pressure (which i hate) and the free blowout i got afterwards made me feel chic and fabulous:) i could go on and on.........but suffice to say that if you pick her for your hair you will not be disappointed!! i already can't wait to go back. thanks delluva!!!
Pros: every freaking thing.........from the staff's attitude and warmness to the skill level and price
Cons: absolutely nothing......and that's unusual because i am very critical
