I wanted to order a birthday cake for the same day and tried our usual favorite bakeries (Buttercup, Billy's, etc.) who told me there was no way. I looked up other bakeries and found one right around the corner from my work, and am so glad I did! I called expecting the worst, and they worked with me to decide on a cake that they could do with 4 hours notice - I went with black velvet. The inscription was adorable and it was delicious! It had a homemade taste but professional appearance. Everyone loved it and asked me where I got it. I will definitely go back and try their creative cupcake and chocolate selection, which looked awesome. The staff is very helpful and friendly, which is much appreciated, and the space is very quaint. Not overly crowded at around 5:30, so it didn't have that frenzied atmosphere of the aforementioned bakeries. Give it a try, I think you'll be just as happy.

Pros: friendly and helpful staff, great baked goods and candies, cute space you can ACTUALLY eat your cupcake in!

Cons: Not cheap, but not ridiculous either

After coming across Tribeca Treats while browsing the neighborhood, it has now become a part of my Friday routine. The cup cakes are yummy... red velvet is my favorite; my husband enjoys devils food, while my daughter simply loves the plain vanilla. For Passover, they even had cup cakes made of matzo, which were actually pretty good. The shop has a really cute decor and the staff is very friendly.
