Delicious and simple American dishes. You have your regular burger, salads, sandwiches and chicken dishes. It's a reasonably priced bistro in the East Village. Great crowd, solid food. Can't disappoint.

Clean, organic, regional and seasonal menu keeps the dining room full ironically here in the East Village.

delicious food, crappy attitudes. 5:10pm trying to order delivery.....

Me: "Hello, can you please tell me your specials for the night?"

Phone Lady: "No."

Me: "Um..... why not?"

PL: : "Nobody told me them yet."

Me: "Do you have any idea when you might know them?"

PL: "I don't know. Call back later." *click*

Me: (to dead phone line) "Wow, thanks, You've been really helpful. I'll be sure to call back at the very specific time of 'later'. Or I'll just call a restaurant that's not quite as unhelpful and rude."

Horrible Customer Service. Since it opened, this has been one of my favorite restaurants in the east village. The food is perfect for takeout and the staff is always nice and pleasant on the phone. My boyfriend and I order in from here at least once -- sometimes twice a week and have been very understanding in the past when things such as the following have happened:

-waiting 2.5 HOURS for our food to be delivered

-the delivery guy NEVER having a pen

-our entres coming with chocolate cake instead of chocolate shakes.

But after a recent incident with this restaurants manager I will never order from there again. When my order was messed up, I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager. He was incredibly rude and extremely unaccommodating -- even though the mistake was clearly there's. When he asked what I proposed he do about it, he agreed to take ONE dollar off my meal -- um, is that real? So anyway, he finally agreed to take the item off my credit card, but when I asked him to read me my card number back to make sure he had the right one, he said he didn't need to that he had it -- This was interesting considering he didn't know my name, number or the rest of my order. It's a shame that such a generally good place with decent food (though pretty greasy) had to leave such a bad taste in my mouth.

If this is how they treat their loyal customers, I can't imagine how they treat everyone else. Hope your experience is better than mine!

New Fav In The East Village. I have been twice in the last 4 weeks and I love this place. The lines are sometimes tough but if you go for dinner at like 9:30 its often not too bad.

Everything I have had here is awsome. Esp the burger which is the best in the east village and probably in my top 3 for the city (rare and burger joint are the other two)

For now its also BYOB which is awsome....its not listed as romantic or a date spot but I think it works well. Plus being able to eat for 2 under 40 bucks when you can bring your own booze never hurts.

The special sides of the day are really good. If you go and get the burger I would pass on the fries (kind skinny and Mcdonald like...not my thing) and go with one of the 15 or so special sides of the day.

Nice staff, average food. Very friendly atmosphere and staff, but the food is average. The veggie plate is a good idea, but it's pretty tasteless.

Gets too crowded.

Great burgers. I came here with a friend a few weeks ago and on a Thursday night we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for our table. The place is small, and at times you can definitely feel cramped and closed-in. They didn't have a liquor license, but they can direct you to stores from which you can buy your own. Both my friend and I got the hamburgers, and they were delicious! Not the best I've had, but definitely up there. They were juicy, cooked perfectly (medium rare). I also tried one of their milkshakes, which was really good, but I don't know if it was the best I've had. I recommend this place to anyone looking for some good comfort food in the east village.

one of the best brunches in nyc. i met some friends at westville east for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. i had the egg scramblers (you can build your own or get one of the specials) with amazing potatoes and probably the best toast and jam i've found in ny. my roommate had the french toast which was very tasty too. the portions are huge and the prices are not. they don't take reservations and some people will wait up to 45 minutes for a table, but it is definitly worth it. i would trek down here from the uws any day of the week.

Slow to start out, but nice menu. Dining here for brunch on it's second day, I found the wait staff to be a little overwhelmed and clumsy. However, the dish was very good, I had an omlette special. The space is small, cramped and loud. Haha...so is the original, I guess. Okay coffee, but the layout was uncomfortable.

On the bright side, the food tasted excellent, and I felt as though everything was indeed fresh as can be and prepared on the spot. Give it a try if you feel so inclined in the area.
