Cute Brunch Spot. I am not going to lie; I was going to Sunburt Cow originally but it was totally booked for whatever reason. So I decided to check out Westville East because it looked packed and the West Village location was amazing.

It did turn out to be a great brunch place. The place was intimate, cute and the food uses fresh organic ingredients. We ordered 4 market sides including asparagus, split peas, tomatoes and plantain and you cook tell they are really fresh.

I ordered egg scramble with 3 ingredients including chorizo, mushroom and green peppers, which also comes with toast and potato mash. it was a good portion; not overly done but good enough to be filling.

My boyfriend got their challah bread French Toast with fresh stawberries. It was great too. But I think the best French Toast is at Extra Virgin in the West Village.

Overall, it was a good experience. Great atmosphere, average wait and friendly service. Food is good but not extraordinary. Price is reseaonable. I definitely recommend coming here for brunch. Their burger and sweet potato fires look great too!

Wonderful Experience. I am extremely picky and asked for about 100 things to be changed on my order. They got it all right and did so with smiles on their faces. The food was fantastic. All of it. Don't forget to order dessert. I wouldn't think twice about going back to this place. Besides that it is a bit more expensive than what works on a student's budget, Westville was an amazing lunch experience.

Could be a great place, but no one seems to give a sh it.. Nice place, quick seating (saturday night 9:30), friendly staff.

But: definition of "seared tuna" here means "cooked in a skillet", without regard for your stated preference for degree of doneness. Note that the wait staff taking the order did ask how we would like it done, and did hear "rare: red in the middle", but on delivery the server insisted this well-done (cooked-thru) tuna was "seared". On asking the waitress for their definition of "seared", she indicated that it means it's sauteed in a pan. Not sure if anyone passed this incident on along to the chef.

Another oddity: berry cobbler includes strawberries and peaches, not blueberries as presented.

Could be a great place, but no one seems to give a sh it.

Great place, poor service. I love this place! We come to Westvile all the time. While their food is always amazing, service is below average. If not for the food I would never go back. Portions are alway huge and delicious, especially their Crab Burger (which I think should be permanently on the menu, not only as a special). Service on the other hand is worst than service you get at McDonald's. On several occasions our server would just drop the chcek after we finished our meal without asking if we wanted a dessert (we did want the dessert). If you don't care about high maintenance service but care about good food this is the place!!!!

For East Siders, a closer outpost of the West Village's burger, shake and comfort food mainstay.. In Short
The beloved comfort food hub brings its diner grub to the cheap eats-loving East Village. The cast-iron turkey burger (as well as its all-beef cousin) is the main draw at this bright, no-frills space where Americana art flecks clean, white walls. The health-conscious swear by the menu's "vegetable market" which offers plates of in-season vegetables and salads, while everyone is tempted by the thick shakes--giant homemade versions of Oreo cookies and gooey chocolate cakes.

What's the opposite of Customer Service? This is.... I have been ordering delivery every few weeks from Westville East since it opened, but never again.

The other night, I ordered 2 burgers, one was fine, the other was served on a stale bun. And when I say stale, I mean it was as hard as a hockey puck. NOT EVEN REMOTELY EDIBLE. Had it been from a diner, we probably would have let it go, but considering it was an $11 burger, I decided to call back and ask for an exchange.

The phone girl asked the manager and told me that he had said "No, we won't send anymore food". I asked to speak with him, then explained that I had one burger that was fine, delicious I even said, but that the second burger was inedible. Before I even finished my sentence he told me it was not their policy to send out more food and that because they toast the buns, we were probably mistaken about it's staleness. I explained again that one of the burger buns was fine, and that I only wanted to EXCHANGE the other burger. When he said no again, I told him that I would need my money back for one of the burgers, and still would give him the burger back. He said no to this also, and told me that he had an idea, he would offer me store credit. When I told him that I wished to redeem my store credit for another burger to be delivered to my address, he said "No I can't do that", I asked him why not and he then told me "The store credit is no longer available, and there is a way to talk to people and a way not to talk to people...." It ended with him taking down my address, and telling me he would send out another bun, and if that wasn't good enough, then I "knew what to do". I can only assume that means my address has been blacklisted.

So if anyone that owns this place is reading, this all happened on Saturday, July 5th 2008 around 8:45pm with a male manager with a very slight accent.

Great Burger. I stopped in here with a couple of friends between going to bars and had a terrific burger here. Really cool place with a diner like feel that serves beer and some wine. I'll be back again.

Stay away from the "Specials". I went with the friend and ordered the special fried chicken. The first piece I opened up came out ice cold in the middle and raw. Nothing says summer like raw chicken. I had the waitress take it back, and what I got back were the same three pieces which took eight more minutes in the fryer. All the pieces were dry and terrible. The mashed potatoes, which had not been removed from the plate or kept warm in anyway, were of course cold. What was "special" about any of this?

The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because I got two bites of my friend's burger which was excellent. If I ever go back, I'm sticking to something that they know how to cook."

Best breakfast / brunch in the the EV!. Having the Westville open an East Village location was the best thing that happen to the neighborhood. We have been tracking over to the West Village location for years now and were ecstatic when they opened. I crave their egg scramble every week and love all of their veggie side dishes, deserts and salads. Enjoy!

So rude. So rude. If you want good food AND good service, skip Westville East and go to Westville the original on West 10th Street.
