USDA prime beef, elegant tableside service and mammoth martinis.. In Short
With its dark wood details, celebrity photos and tuxedo-clad waiters, this upscale steakhouse chain has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with bartenders making a mean martini. Dinners begin with a waiter-driven cart laden with fresh vegetables, live lobster and cuts of steak; customers choose from porterhouse, rib-eye, bone-in prime rib and more. Side dishes are traditional and enormous, from baked potatoes and creamed spinach to steamed broccoli with hollandaise.

Aviod this place. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us, probably because this place is a below average steak house. A nice ambiance setting within the place, but that?s about it. You get a fresh loaf of bread to eat while you select your meals. The waiter/waitress will bring out a trolley of the raw ingredients that the chef will use to prepare your meal I wonder what they do with this at the end of the day. We both had the overpriced steak and they were cooked blandly. I make a better steak at home on my broiler. - Probably the worst steak I've had for that ridiculous price. The vegetable dish was overcooked and the salad dish was sad to say the least. I would not recommend this place, unless you like bad steak at a stupid price ($200 plus tip for two). Peter Lugers is the best in NYC.

Exceptional resturant. My wife and I ate at Morton's on Christmas Eve, and were thrilled to have picked such a great spot. We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar beforehand, and were then promptly seated at our table. The service is first class, and the staff dont over do it and give guests just the right amount of attention. The food is sublime, one of the best steaks I have had in NYC. We will definately be returning to Morton's in 2008. Highly recommended.

Mor-TONS of great food....& an even better experience!. I have eaten at many of the Morton's steakhouses located around this fine country of ours & have always been treated exceptionally. However, the service at the Manhattan location blew me away. I actually wondered if they thought my friend & I were celebrities because of the way we were greeted & seated at the best booth in the place. Our server was friendly & attentive & I felt as if every server in the place was there just for us. If you have eaten at a Mortons, you are well aware that the food is consistently amazing....but this time, the servive was what captured my attention. Everyone should feel as VIP as we were treated. To top it all off, we were brought over complimentary cordials after our meal--MBN!

You always know what you're getting. Mortons is a classic, New York, San Fran, DC, you'll always find a great steak and good service. Though I prefer other Steak Houses and would bring others to Quality Meats or elsewhere, I'm never upset when I hear that we're going to Mortons. The Steak is amazing and I love the Potato Hashbrowns. Nothing too over the top or chic, just great steak.

Get the steak at lunch, skip dinner. The massive steaks at lunch will keep you full through the night. The Cajun ribeye was quite tasty and nicely seasoned, which I expected for the price - Overall nice spot for a hearty business lunch with the boys. Do not come without an appetite!

One of the Best Steakhouses in NYC. Some people may shy away from Morton's because they are a chain steakhouse. The important distinction is that they're corporate owned, and the quality of food is outstanding. I've eaten here well over a dozen times. It is a true, traditional steakhouse, from the rich appetizers, to the many cuts and varieties of aged steaks, to the Sinatra piped in from the speakers above. The bar features a fine selection of scotches and gins. The service is remarkable, even when they are busy. The wine list includes hundreds of wines, and a large selection of California Cabernets. The outstanding appetizers include the jumbo-lump crab cake, shrimp alexander, and bacon-wrapped scallops. The steaks are standard in cut - there's a porterhouse, strip, fillet, rib-eye, all the expected steaks. For those who want a bit of a kick, they have a cajun-spiced rib-eye that is out of this world. The sides are more plentiful than you will find at Peter Luger's. The Lyonnaise potatoes are excellent. For dessert, get the Godiva Chocolate Soufflet, it's worth it.

I will always come back here, highly recommended. As a side note, if you find yourself at the bar for just a drink, they have mini-burger flights that are as good as any I've ever had elsewhere.
