False Advertising. I was actually looking forward to coming here. The space itself is really nice and open. The staff on the other hand were less than cordial, and would actually compel me to bypass this place in favor of the many other lounges in the area.

Furthermore, the owners of Boucarou apparently feel that false advertising is an acceptable business practice to bring in customers. On their website and on flyers that they hand out, they clearly promote "a complimentary open bar (FREE) from 9pm to 10pm" every Wednesday... which is a lie.

My friend and I went to check this out last Wednesday, and we were immediately told that the free open bar was conveniently not happening that night. However, we were informed that we could pay $25 for their bar special instead. A very shady case of bait 'n switch.

Both the bartender and the hostess were incredibly condescending making it seem like I was the one who made a mistake and read the wrong promotion. This was even the case after I politely pointed out a flyer that they visibly had in the bar.

I still don't understand why a place that was practically empty at 9pm would be so deceitful and rude to customers who simply want to enjoy a nice evening in the East Village.

Oh... I should also point out that the only form of air conditioning that they had when we were there was a large fan over the bar. The place was boiling hot.

Boucarou definitely failed my expectation. I wouldn't believe any promises or promotions they make after this experience.

I loved it!. I went there couple of times and I will def go again. My friend had a B-day party over there. Was really nice, food was great, we got a glass of champane and dessert on the house.than we stayed for the late night. There was a little disorganization as we moved to a different table after finishing our dinner but everything worked out. We had a grat time. The crowd was cool and the stuff was friendly. And I must say the girls working there are hot! Models I guess. from door girl to manager, seriously.

Trendy-Fun. Super fun! I went with my girlfriends on a friday, we didn't wait too long in line maybe 5 minutes. Hot people working there, the music was good. Gets packed, but all in all worth it!

STRANGE SET-UP not worth the money or your precious Saturday night. Strange set-up. Small rectangle tables that are too low and small. Don't go if you are more than a couple, as you will be seated in an L-shape set up. We were two couples and ordered drinks. The "home-made" drinks were ok. ,and cost a whopping $20.00 each ,which included tax and tip. The food was average as well. We ordered the combination platter for 4. It was very tastey. We had an 8:30 reservation for a Saturday night ,and the place was empty. The waitress we had continued to ask for our order. We wanted to drink and chill. By the 4th time, we felt compelled to order as we had requested the previous 3 times more time.; I guess the chef was bored. I would not reccommend this restaurant to anyone, as there are so many interesting eateries to choose from in NYC.

A little all-over-the-place, but solid. Booked a table / bottles last wkd; very nice hostess I dealt with on the phone. When we got there, though, I got passed around from clipboard person at the door, to doorperson #1, to floor staff, back to doorperson, asked for manager, then back to clipboard lady who finally showed us to our table...which was still occupied by the party that had eaten dinner there, even though it was nearly midnight. Annoying. Then our waitress ignored us for the first 20 minutes and I had to go flag her down across the room...seemed like one girl was waiting on like 8 private tables and moving as slow as she could. Had expected things to work a little more smoothly than that. Once we got those kinks ironed out, though, our waitress was relatively attentive, the scene was exactly what I was hoping for (chill but not over the top pretentious), and our party had a blast. Staff kept the private table area relatively free of riff-raff, which was appreciated. Late at night they told a handful of my friends outside that they'd have to pay cover, which was annoying b/c we dropped nearly $1,000 there, although in fairness they had told me in advance that after my first 10 guests they'd have to start paying cover. Would go back again. Good scene; just get the personnel flow ironed out.

Best bar and food I ve tried for a while. I went to this place with few friends and had something to eat. We ordering a bunch of appetizer and shared and I must say every single one of them was wow. Picking on each other plates never been so fun. Very different taste but east one was hat off. I must say it's the best sushi I ever tried in 14 years.

We stayed in for drinks and got a very pleasant time. The nice stuff and cool owners rewarded us with a complementary bottle of champagne. We stayed in for some drinks and watch the entire place turn to nightlife with some serious dance party. I give it my highest recommendation. Can' wait to try the rest of the menu...

this place is terrible. i've lived in new york for 7 years, and i've never been to a bar that is as crappy as this place. they charge you $20 at the door, then demand that you check your coat for $3 (i had two layers of coats, so they charged me $6). only a bar that knows that it has no potential for longevity would tax you at every possible occassion. i complained about my general disapointment with the service and general atmosphere, and they couldn't care less. it really had nothing to do with the actual $$$ (because they are quite trivial), at some point it became a matter of principal that a place that is as crappy as this place shouldn't be able to extract any more expense from me without giving me alcohol in return.

Nice. I remember going there a couple of times last year and being really happy with the place itself (it's beautiful) and the service, as well as the music. This time though, the bouncers (I think one of their names was Artemius) really took care of me when I couldn't find my friends and wasn't particularly in a state to take care of myself. So I have to say that this place is great on its own but now, for personal reasons, also I'd like to know that it's doing well and that people go there!

Yuck. Dont know about the food, but I can tell you as far as night life goes.. it always smells like B.O. and you always always see certain little animals scurrying around outside the club. Also, unless you have a table/bottles, don't expect to have any room to move.
