sketchy environment

This place is known in the neighborhood because of the crowd patronizing the place. Last week July 2011, shots were fired in front of the restaurant. My neighbors report having been propositioned as they walk by. Neighborhood is watching the place to prevent further violations to local regulations.

BEWARE....CARD FRAUD!

This place does not deserve a rating considering what I'm going though now as a result of attending a party there but unfortunately I have to give it something to post my review.

I went to this place for the first time last Friday for a party my friend held for husband. I bought 2 beers at the bar and used my debit/credit card for the transaction. I was a little surprised to see that the card machine wasn't behind the bar but downstairs somewhere. I also noticed that the bartender took a while to come back with my card but because I was having a conversation with a friend at the bar I just dismissed it. The cost of my bar tab was $12.70 for the 2 beers. Now here we are a few days later and I get an alert from my bank about being under my threshold limit so I check it online. And to my surpise I see an unauthorized charge to my card posted that same night to an auto parts store in Jersey City. I don't live in NJ and I know or a fact that the charge is not mine so after contacting my bank I was advised to fill out some paperwork at the nearest branch and I was also told the back would close out my card. After doing some online research I also realize that I have to contact the police to file a report and also the vendor (auto parts store) to get a copy of the receipt and to also let them know I'm filing a police report.

If anyone still wishes to check this place out after my review PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PAY WITH CASH or else you will become a victim like me!

Beautiful interior

Would not be a good place for mature people because of the young crowd and too many fights that break out. The food is no longer good since Mr. C the chef left. I would not recommend this place to any of my frinds.

Great spot to be an adult

Heard about this restaurant through one of my friends and decided to jump on the train and check it out. Fortunately its around the corner from the Path and once I got there the vibe and music were cool. It really captures that grown-up lounge atmosphere we look for after a long day at work. The food was pretty good too. I had the salmon and my friend had the ribs. I also heard they're going to start doing a weekly party there. I'll definitely come back!
