Exquisite, Authentic Thai. My wife and I recently enjoyed a fantastic meal at Pinto - really a delightful and unexpectedly authentic experience. Having spent months in Thailand, and also having a Thai wife means a couple of things: I eat a lot of Thai food (both at home and in restaurants); and I have a pretty good palate for Thai cuisine. So does my wife. Pinto served the best Thai food we've had outside of Thailand and my own kitchen - which is saying a lot, since there are some excellent places in NYC (mostly in the 50's & Queens). We could tell Pinto makes their own curry - which is impressive (and rare), and that the shrimp (especially) were as fresh as fresh. We both enjoyed the soup - separation of the broth and contents (the waiter poured the broth at our table) made the shrimp and vegetables ultra-fresh and distinctly flavorful. The entrees were wonderful - duck for my wife (cooked and presented tastefully), and curry for me (perfectly seasoned and spicy). Pinto - which I gather is Thai for "Bento" - put some very good flavors "in the box". I'm sure we'll be back often.
