“The Hudson Street location was a perfect spot and the place had a great vibe to it.”
“The Blind Tiger is a great bar to spend a long night if you get there early enough to snag a table.”
“(though we thoroughly enjoyed our John's pizza and pitcher of Sierra Nevada!)”
“Amazing beer selection.”
“Friendly staff, cool interior.”
“We sorely missed them when they closed, we understood due to the costs of operating without their liquor license in an expensive neighborhood.”

A somewhat undistinguished looking West Village bar, Blind Tiger nonetheless has one of the biggest beer selections to be found in New York -- one reason for its otherwise inexplicable continuing popularity.
A Beer Snobs Heaven. So i went up to visit my brother and I truly enjoy BEER. So first thing we did. He took me to this place. I was in Heaven. Had hundreds of beers and every proper glass to serve each in. We went on a Wednesday as my brother told me the Special microbrews from local breweries on trial basis. But by 6pm the place was so packed it was standing room only. i guess we all love our Beer. i will see you very soon. GREAT PLACE
#5 Best Place in the US to Grab a Beer. Let's face it, word gets around. I've been coming here for years. There's a reason Beer Advocate listed it as the #5 best bar in the US to grab a beer. Many people know about the BT, but that doesn't change the fact that they have one of the best beer lists around and some pretty damn good grilled cheese and tomato soup. It has a great ambiance despite it's location and the bartenders are friendly to regulars and people that actually know beer. If you come into this place and try to order Coors Light, please show yourself the door.
BEST Beer Selection in NYC!. Never ate here, but sure had my fair share of great beers! With all the draught and bottled beer options, you don't need to go anywhere else. My wife and I like to have a few beers here, then head over to Lederhosen for dinner (and more beer). In my opinion, this is by far the best beer bar in Manhattan.
Interrupted Work.
I usuallly come to the Blind Tiger (BT's as those in "the" know call it) on a Monday night, to enjoy the delicious array of beers, ales, pilsners and stouts, to quietly ponder the trails and twibulations of the day gone by and to work on my novel.
NOT LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111
No, because some loud people were laughing and having fun, and whooping and hollering. The blind tiger, in my mind is a designated quiet zone on Monday. If you want to laugh loudly, go to Duplex next door, but don't come to BT's on a mnoday night!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111
Harrumphh!
Party Poopers. I went there last night; the bartender is a complete idiot. He came over to our table of 8, and told us "it was a Monday night in a bar" and that the volume of our laughter was too much for him. Seriously, is this a Library, we went to a bar to have a great time. No screaming or anything ridiculous. Then he tried to pick up a glass and threaten me with it, I laughed at him. I guess they employ thugs. I would recommend, but anyplace that the staff threatens bodily harm I would not. Great beer, poor manners by the staff. Also, this is the season opener for Monday night football, they do not anticipate a bit of noise???
Amazing grilled cheese!.
Surprise, surprise! My boyfriend and I were wandering the neighborhood looking for somewhere cheap and quick to grab dinner and a drink. We stumbled on the Blind Tiger and I'm so glad we did. We snagged a hi-top table right away and settled in with a couple of beers. I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and he had the olive tapenade. Both were delicious and really filling. My only complaint is that there's no table service for food- you have to order at the bar. Small price to pay, considering our tab was only $30! That is unheard of even in the furthest reaches of Brooklyn, where we live.
All in all, highly recommended.
Great beer selection. I love their beer selection and the staff is great. A fun, diverse crowd as well. Always a good time.
Best beer. Excellent beer selection served in proper glassware, tasting fresh. Friendly staff, cool interior. Do wish it was bigger though.
Too Many People Know They Have Good Beer. I'm part of a weekly Wednesday drinking group of 30 or so regulars who love to drink, geek out, talk and eat after work. We check out a different bar each week. We've been kicking around the city for 12 years. In that time we've visited several hundred bars (with repeats of faves). Over the years we've been to the old Blind Tiger and the revived one on Bleecker. Their beer selection has always been phenomenal. The problem is that too many people know it. It's overly crowded, especially for a large group. Go with a friend or two, four or more becomes a major hassle for staff and seating. I had a sample of the food, and it's pretty good. However, it takes a while to belly up to the bar. At any given time, you're in competition with 10 other people all with hands up hoping to catch the eye of the bartender. We left for our backup, Barrow Street Ale House, two blocks away. They have the space and a good bar menu. Unfortunately, their beers are no-fril standards.
Amazing beer selection.. Great beer selection; stuff that is really hard anywhere else in the city. OK kind of vibe which varies greatly depending on the day and hour. Busiest hours: Cool if you are ~30s and a happening kind of yuppie. Slower times: awesome, get to enjoy your beer.
