In Short – There's not a spec of sawdust or a creak in the floorboards, but at this well-loved beer bar, it sure feels like there should be. Wood from a 19th century farmhouse was used for the ceiling beams, flooring and counter--all the better to soak up the suds from 28 colorful taps and two casks--and a large brick fireplace warms one side of the room. Along with the microbrews, a food menu is pored over by old friends of the original location and new inductees.
#5 Best Place in the US to Grab a Beer
by WhistlerKid at Citysearch
Let's face it, word gets around. I've been coming here for years. There's a reason Beer Advocate listed it as the #5 best bar in the US to grab a beer. Many people know about the BT, but that doesn't change the fact that they have one of the best beer lists around and some pretty damn good grilled cheese and tomato soup. It has a great ambiance despite it's location and the bartenders are friendly to regulars and people that actually know beer. If you come into this place and try to order Coors Light, please show yourself the door.
- Pros: Fantastic beer list
- Cons: Can get a bit crowded

BEST Beer Selection in NYC!

Never ate here, but sure had my fair share of great beers! With all the draught and bottled beer options, you don't need to go anywhere else. My wife and I like to have a few beers here, then head over to Lederhosen for dinner (and more beer). In my opinion, this is by far the best beer bar in Manhattan.
- Pros: Tons of draughts
