the worst.
This used to be a nice place, so i have tried to give it a couple of chances in hopes that my bad experiences were a anomaly but today was the WORST pedicure manicure i ever had. $76 dollars for cold towels, cold water, scraped with the edge of the file. The manicure was no better, she shaped one hand one way (flat on top sharp corners on even), I fixed it myself and showed her the shape she then ignored that and did the same to the other hand???Finally the polish was poorly applied. My feet looked and felt better when I came in

Disappointing.
So I was looking for a new nail salon in the neighborhood and passed by Queen Jane's thinking it looked lovely inside. Sadly, my nails ended up looking worse leaving than they did going in. I understand that nails in NYC are a gamble and completely depends on the girl you get, but I also think simple things like not leaving a pool of polish in the crease of your nail bed and pushing back cuticles are pretty standard. I first sat in the chair noticing the massage didn't work...not a huge deal so I didn't say anything. The young girl then proceeded to scrub my feet...well "scrub" is a strong word considering the scrub block barely even touched my feet. That is when I started getting suspicious and rather disappointed. Trying not to be the "difficult customer" I didn't say anything...it was when she applied the lotion to my leg with no massage or pressure whatsoever that I really felt like I was being taken advantage of. It honestly felt like she was afraid of feet! The polish job was the icing on the cake. I have to say, I don't pamper myself often. Pedicures once every other week is my treat to myself...but this experience left me upset and frustrated that my one "splurge" was more stressful than anything. The woman sitting next to me was actually a return visit from the day before because they did such a poor job. In the end, my feet were left looking worse, yes WORSE, then they did when I arrived. I probably should not have even left the $2 tip I did, but hey, you have to make a living, right?...

best budget services in the area.
I've tried about 8 different nail locations around Stuy Town and this one is BY FAR the best. Not only do they offer great discounts during the week ($20 for main/pedi) - I have been there three times so far and each time the service is patient and thorough. From warming their lotions to a foot massage that lasts longer than 10 seconds, this place is awesome service for a really fair price. The chair massage is very good too.
