Downtown is Amazing! Uptown not at all!. I love the Aroma DT! It's an awesome experience and the service is amazing. Now what happened to UT? I was so excited when it opened up UT. The service is awful! The people look like they are bored, I ordered a Frozen Hot Chocolate and misunderstood the girls' mumbling, and she ordered the Light Coffee drink instead. Now I realized they charged me twice!!! For their Mistake. Plus my drink didn't taste fresh at all! Will never drink from there again and will definitely tell my friends and co-workers to steer clear from there. Keep up the Good Job Downtown, will always travel all the way down there to have a good experience.
Editorial Review. A crowded coffee shop on a busy Soho street is patronied largely by wifi crazy neighborhood fleelancers and NYU students.
excellent espresso. This place makes a great cappucino and machiato. The snacks are small but good. You can always get a seat and the bathroom is decent.I have not had a cup of coffee that even comes close to this, anywhere in the city.I can't tell you about the food-I have never ordered anything but coffee and a snack.
A "Classic".
At 9:20 PM, after 12 hours in the office, I ordered delivery of a Classic Caesar with Chicken and a Lemonade. It arrived at 10:10 PM, even though the distance is 240 yards (less than 3 short-blocks). The ticket was $13.45, so I gave $16. He was gone before I realized the salad container was 1/4 full--fair on the chicken, but literally 5 pieces of lettuce. I immediately put it back in the bag and headed for the store.
When I arrived, now 10:10 PM, I asked if they?d run out of lettuce. When I showed my ?salad,? they acted surprised and agreed it was not how it should look. I asked who was responsible for checking the orders before they leave the store. The manager shrugged and mumbled that he guessed it was him.
The manager suggested he make me a fresh salad to which I agreed. This time a plain Classic Caesar (they were now out of chicken) to which I also agreed just wanting to get it and get out. I was offered and declined a coffee while I waited or a pastry to take with, but never offered a refund.
Being very close to my office, I?ll admit visiting aroma many times (my guess is 40 times). Typically for dine-in, although only 2-3 of those times have been since they increased prices 25% for customers who dine in [apparently they?d rather a student spend $3.00 on a coffee and take up table space all day with their laptop, than a diner spend $15 and sit down to eat for 20 minutes, but I guess that?s another story]. Though they have mixed up my order a time or two in the past, it?s never been a big deal and the food is generally pretty good (obviously good enough to come back to).
This is the first time I have ever written an online review and believe there's a better use of time than a critical or complaining review. That said, I just couldn?t get over this one?
Best Coffe Shop ever. The signarure Aroma Coffe is the best coffe I have ever tried. it's more like a latte with a chocolate inside. amazing. the chocholate almond croissants are to die for! YUMMMM
Great Service- Yeah It's busy so you might wait!!!. I love this place. It's around the corner from my job. The service is excelent. I have never had my order wrong. They have lots of vegetarain items, including some healthy ones. There is usually a line and a small wait, but it's busy, it's SOHO and it's new- so get over it, this is not McD's. I usually geta sandwich and a peppermint tea. The people who take the order are very nice and friendly. Nice attitudes there. The place is small and if it's busy there might not be a place to sit down for a few minutes. They give you a piece of chocolate with your hot beverage :) and the place is super clean!
Screwups on orders to go. This place regularly makes mistakes with my orders. I work nearby and used to go get lunch there; however, I am tired of walking back and forth trying to get my order correct. And yes, I do look over my order before I leave, and it looks like it is all there, but I get it out to eat and it is the wrong salad, or I don't have salad dressing and utensils, or it is just the wrong order. The worse part is I go back, they apologize, correct the problem, and nothing else for waiting 30 minutes for a salad or sandwich to go. And it is not inexpensive.
Best coffee I've had in a while!. Hey nuvibes80, do you go to Starbucks to eat or drink healthy? I don't think so. Go to GNC or something. Anyway, I went there because of all the hype online about this Israeli coffee shop opening here in NY. I have to say I was very impressed. I tried their Aroma coffee drink, which was awsome and 2 different sandwiches (they serve halves which is great), both were very tasty. So if you are a health freak the place may not be for you but if you're into great tasting coffee - don't miss this one.
Where's the flavor?. Came here on the way home from the gym hoping to get a healthy snack. Ordered the "fresh" carrot juice, which was more like carrot soda- it was too sugary and tasted carbonated. I also had the health sandwich- a few shreds of portobello, a pathetic layer of sprouts, 3 basil leaves and a smear of tasteless tomato spread between two gigantic sponges of bread. If your idea of eating healthy is not eating at all this is the place for you. Oh and if you enjoy hanging out in airport cafeterias you will love the decor. I will not be stopping by again!
