Great coffee. I really love their blend, it really sooths my soul and my caffeine needs. They have great bagels too and their cream cheese bagel combo.
The neighborhood west village cafe..
Neighborhood hangout, friendly, fantastic idealized cafe paradise. Foods are prepared in the most tasteful way. Wifi of course. Coffee flows.
I come to 11th Street Cafe for my morning coffee, talk with friends before the day begins and grab some amazing breakfast. My favorites are: Steel cut oatmeal with ginger and other healthy toppings, Egg ham croissant, or bowl of scrabble eggs w/dill - so perfect - this food makes me happy. For lunch, I grab the Baby Arugula, Artichoke and shaved cheese salad.
Now, the people who work here are charming, hip, sweet souls. The owners are brilliant, interesting couple. You may even get to know the staff by name if you come here often enough. Jacob is just plain awesome. You'll notice him if he's working.
My Favorite Place. I've lived on 11th Street in the village for nearly 9 years and have been a patron of 11th Street Cafe all the while. When Maud and Philippe took it over a few years ago, it instantly transformed into the neighborhood meeting spot. The food is amazing and the menu has grown significantly over the years. It has provided me with the best morning biscuit EVER (bacon being my favorite), or their ginger or cranberry scone with coffee or green tea with steamed milk. They also have amazing freshly made sandwiches that are out of this world good. When evening comes rolling around and I'm too tired to cook, I run across the street for a fresh bowl of homemade soup or chili or even a salad, which there is a great variety to choose from. And to top it all off, the staff is the friendliest in all of New York. A must go to place.
The place to be.
Warm, welcoming, fantastic staff and hands on owners.
Meeting point for us villagers with great food and family atmosphere.
It is not unusual to meet Hugh Jackman, Julian Moore or Julian Schnabel.
We can't wait to discover Philipp and Maud's new place opening soon, BAKEHOUSE on Horatio street next to the upcoming Whitney Museum of downtown.
great friendly neighborhood coffee shop. 11th St. Cafe is distinguished by its enthusiastic and friendly staff and owners. terrific coffee and food -- donuts, blueberry muffins and omelettes to name a few make this cafe an inviting destination to spend some time.
all the right ingridients....
so many coffee shops in the west village and yet this one stands out! not because the coffee is the best one around or the food is really tasty while tagged at a fair price...it stands out because the owners + staff welcome you so warmly without the usual impersonal 'have a great day' mentality you find in so many coffee shops these days!!!
...to me those are all the right ingridients to start my day at 11th street Cafe before getting caught up in the NYC Jungle!
YUMMY. Love this quaint neighborhood west village cafe. The food is fresh and really tasty...reasonably priced (hey...it's the west village), and the staff are all so friendly (and cute). Recently they started serving beer & wine too! What more could you want in a place? I mean really...
CUTE SQUARED.
11th street cafe is a true hidden gem. Well, not that hidden because there is always a line up of loyal local customers waiting to be served.
Maude and Phillipe who run the place are fabulous and you'll often see local celebs ducking in for their morning coffee.
The only problem is the lack of actual seating in the space. Other than that it's absolutely worth the block or two walk over from Hudson street in order to enjoy its' charms.
Highly recommended.
