AVOID – I went there for a birthday party. We were told we should purchase a bottle of Grey Goose and we would get one fro free. Instead we purchased a bottle for $100 more then what we were told over the phone, and were given a $20 bottle of Vodka. The service was quite unbearable towards end of the night. They prefer 1 guy=2 girls. Many friends and family were turned away at the door after waiting for almost an hour at the front of the line. You are better off going to the W hotel which is few blocks away you don't have to pay for a table or bottle service. I would never go again. Also there was no hip hop music playing. It was all techno. There are signs all over stating NO SMOKING..but somehow everyone has a lit cigarette. They have a pool table which was the only section that wasn't bursting at the seams with people. I would personally recommend going to a hole in the wall location instead of a venue so "exclusive" people on the birthday guest list couldn't get in. Stay away..
Gross – Went there last night. For a place that has a tight door policy, the crowd was surprisingly awful. Most of the women were in cheap shoes, too much make up, and dresses that didn't fit well. The guys were worse.....black loafers, designer jeans, button down shirts that weren't tucked in, and seriously gelled hair. In most nice clubs or bars, the wait staff has to wear revealing clothing. The clothing the wait staff wore at this place was disgusting, and so revealing and tight, that it was not cute or attractive at all. Even though I had no problem getting in to this club, I would rather stay at home than go to a place like this.
Good Times – This place is great... I've been promoting and I highly reccomend.. Although hard to get tables for your Parties/Bday parties calling directly to the club itself, contact a promoter alot easier...... If you want in contact lewdachris221@gmailcom... We can set u up
Awful experience – After Tut's screwed our group over, they "transferred" our reservation to Azza. We were promised we'd be on the VIP list at Azza. Hah. When we arrived, there were about 4 staff members outside, no one in line, and clearly no one inside--yet the bouncers gave us major attitude and asked if we had a reservation. When we explained what had happened with Tut's, they sneered that that seemed "very unlikely" and that we were not on any list. After a few minutes of them being rude (since when are bouncers rude to a HUGE group of girls ready to come in and drop a ton of money in their bar?? Twilight zone), they finally were about to let us in--when they noticed that one of the girls was wearing a tiara (IT WAS HER BACHELORETTE PARTY!) and decided that they wouldn't let us in after all. I have never been treated so poorly by stupid people who are clearly on a power trip. The place was clearly DEAD and SO not worth the hassle. Avoid, unless you want to get insulted and talked down to!
AVOID!!!! – The staff/service is the worst I have ever experienced.
We were having a Ladies Night get together (read: 13 girls, no guys, all looking to have a good time).
The door bouncers were the most disrespectful people we have ever, ever encountered. Their attitude almost ruined our entire night. And it was empty inside! This was almost midnight on a Saturday night! We ended up walking away from this place. I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially due to the treatment we received at the door. The inside does not make up for it. Their rudeness cost them a lot of money as we had planned to spend the majority of the evening there. (And that's a good thing too, because I would never want to contribute to the profits of this type of dump!). Hopefully it'll get closed down like their other location.
Had a Blast!! – Awesome place
One of the best clubs in the city. I guess the lamos would disagree..
I overheard a woman loudly complaining that she paid $12 for a drink.. and couldnt help but giggle..
You're in NYC, and the place is unbelievable. If you don't want to spend money stay home!
Maybe the bouncers seem tough, (like every club in the city) they were really very kind to me and my friends.
I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and wanting to have a good time.
HORRIBLE - STAY AWAY. – Went there on a Saturday. Received attitude @ the door. Finally got inside, so we're thinking "okay, hope it's worth it (and it better be) considering how disrespectful they are."
Got inside and NO ONE was there.
Music was horrible. Deejay was playing some funky music that no one was dancing too and he just sucked.
We sat down at a table, myself, 3 guys and 5 girls. We sat for like ~20 minutes to try to soak in the place & enjoy ourselves despite everyone around us appearing not to have much fun (although some people were dancing awkwardly and stuff so it wasn't all bad).
Then suddenly an ugly, short & grizzled guy told us he was the Manager and that we had to move. This guy looked like he'd be dragged off the street 5 minutes ago. Looked like a thug. We tried to reason with him, but he refused to listen and got VERY hostile.
What a loser.
Unfortunate thing is that the space itself was okay. If they replaced their horrible staff & actually got more than ~20 people inside then it'd have tremendous potential.
I'll stick with Meatpacking and/or more well-established venues as opposed to a hole in the wall on a dark street next to no where. lol.
Oh well, live & learn.
unique lounge experience – i'm not really sure what everyone's problem is. this is ny. 55th street or not. any worthwhile club or lounge is going to be a bit tough to get into. if you're not getting in... you obviously don't look good or don't know any of the various well-known nyc promoters (several of whom also promote at pink elephant and kiss & fly) who throw parties there. this isn't rocket science people. the only people badmouthing the club are the amateurs who had trouble at the door (AKA DON'T LOOK GOOD). get over it or go shopping. or make some friends who know how to get into a club. it should be no surprise that if you are sitting at a table reserved for bottle service that you will be asked to move when the SPENDING party arrives... this is not a new concept. this practice occurs at every single club in the city. not to mention the lounge is absolutely gorgeous, unlike any other i've seen. intimate, swanky, unique. awesome resident djs spinning international house. and the food is amazing. 90% organic french moroccan in a beautiful, exotic atmosphere... dj's in the dining room on weekends play funky lounge tracks while you dine. i love this spot. all i'm saying is that these reviews are unreliable... as the only negative ones were written by people who don't seem to have much nyc lounge experience and are just bitter that they have been rejected at the door yet again. only this time in midtown. that must hurt. Azza is a gem and i always have an amazing time there.
absolutely untrue service – You?re not getting in without a reservation for bottle service or dinner- NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU OVER THE PHONE. I had planned a bachelorette party and went classy instead of a drunken-sloppy strip club. Under high recommendation, we chose Azza. Several girls, including myself called at different hours and spoke to various different people all said the same thing, just come at 10-10:30 when there is no line, there is no admission and you do not need a reservation, not for just going to the bar. We were turned down at the door for not having reservations. Just to let you know?I called again today and they told me the same thing, they are full of it?liars. We decided to buy a bottle anyway, it just wasn?t at Azza
Rodriguez Moroccan more like it – This place is NOT French Moroccan more like Rodriguez Moroccan. Poor customer service and no authenticity in music. It is reggeaton, juan carlos at the door trying to swindle you with every step you take. BEWARE!!!! False offers and too many third party promoters that do not know what they are doing. drinks were gross, clientelle was smelly, low class, and confusing. pool tables at a french moroccan restaurant?????? pedro and pepe DJS????? DUMB bartenders and below minimum wage employees.
