Awful Staff and becoming not worth the effort. I have been coming to Maoz for the last 3 years and have eaten at both the union square and Astor place location.

The food is still really tasty which is why I probably still suffer the rude and really obnoxious staff. But tonight was it for me. I had dinner at the astor place location where the guy behind the counter kept sighing and skulking around when customers used the salad bar cause it spills out?? LOL

I'm not sure what happened - they are so busy constantly cleaning the salad bar area and yelling at you to place your order that they have forgotten to smile or be nice. No, you're not doing me a favor with the oily brocolli [which I love] but now renounce.

I really don't think anyone needs this kind of bad energy in their food.

Delivery Service Is False Advertising!. Maoz offers pretty decent food for a quick option, but they can never seem to support their "for fast and free delivery" promise...I have called over five times within the last couple of weeks and they never have anyone available to deliver. Very disappointing...

Great combo!. I randomly read about this place and decided to try it out when I was craving a healthy way to do falafel- it definitely delivered! The salad bar is so unique and you can create a very filling meal, that's also healthy, delicious, and unique!

Amazing Falafel, By Far the Best In NYC. I must say that I am not easily "wowed". Living in NYC you can become quite a food snob. However, when I first walked into the Maoz located on 8th Street between Broadway and University, I was completey amazed at how delicious the falafel was! The freshness and tastiness of the salad bar toppings offered is not even worth putting into words. The french fries and those amazing natural fruit drinks just heaven! This space was larger then the union square location, and I actually got to sit and enjoy my falafel. The pita's are soft, the falafels delicious and warm, and the salad bar to die for! I truly hope that everyone gets the thrill of enjoying such an inexpensive and fullfilling meal in NYC. I wish this chain only the best in its new locations..

Yum! Even the fries are good!. I've ended up at Rainbow Falafel on more than one occasion out of desperation to fulfill my craving for falafel. Each time I end up with a sandwich almost entirely full of lettuce and maybe three small, dry, pieces of falafel. I was so excited to bring my food back from Maoz (only three stools for eat-in) and find that even after walking several blocks my sandwich was in good shape and the fries were really crisp! The salad/ toppings bar looked good, but instead I just went with a mix of the yogurt and garlic sacues. Highly recommended! Falafel was plentiful, soft on the inside, and actually had flavor. Now if only the cart guys in Chelsea could make it like this I wouldn't have to walk to Maoz!

Best Falafel in NYC. By far the best falafel I have ever tasted! The salad bar options and the soft warm pita is a must at this well designed falafel joint. I really think its the best around and all my friends agree! I can't wait until they open the new stores around the city! Delicious and highly recommended, quick, vegetarian, tasty, affordable and rich in flavors! A MUST TRY!

A decent take-out joint. The food is fine as quick/cheap eats, but this is no Top Ten newcomer of 2007. I would not want to get anyone's hopes up. It's really a take-out joint frequented by NYU students. Not the swiftest of service or cleanliness either. Falaffel is....well, falaffel! Can't say that it tastes any better or worse than others.
