nice store.
I only find tops, blouses here that really suit my personal taste. I find it a bit too much on the "trendy" side and since I'm over 28 I feel a need to dress more grown up now!!!! I'm a career girl -- YAY!.
I love shopping the lower east side though. I like Miss Lonelyhearts on Broome, but for really nice designer wear I go to Pilgrim on Orchard Street. They always have high end party dresses, designer handbags and shoes, great vintage and are really, really nice and offer great advice. The designer used to work as a designer for Donna karan I think and also was a stylist for French Vogue.....and the whole store is beautiful!
Adorable Boutique. I love Honey In the Rough - never fail to find something special there and it's always a pleasure to spend time trying on beautiful and unique dresses with Ashley's help. She knows all of her customers by name and acts as a kind of personal shopper. When I walk in she steers me toward dresses that will flatter my body type but is never ever pushy. Can't say enough good things!
no need to shop anywhere els. I live in Boston and went to Honey in the rough for the first time after reading a review in a magazine..... And i was not dissappointed. What makes this store unique is that everything in the store seems like it was picked out with lots of consideration, and only the cutest things were choosen. Ashley the owner is soooo...nice and if I ask her for suggestions she know just what would work and look best on me. I travel to New York every couple of months and always stop in to see what new dresses Ashley has.... some of my favorites are anything by thread social and tsumori chisato.

A shopping delight.
I had such a delightful experience shopping at Honey in the Rough. I thought that there weren't any boutiques left downtown where the staff/owners didn't have major attitude. But happily, I was wrong!
The beautiful pieces are carefully chosen and Ashley is a pleasure. The greatest thing is that you can find fabulous things on the sale at really reasonable prices! The dress I bought there was marked down by 75% and has brought me more compliments than you can imagine.
Overall a total pleasure. I will certainly be back and am sending all of my friends!
P.S. Ashley even does make up there!
An international array of charming dresses in a friendly Lower East Side boutique..
In Short
Owner and makeup artist Ashley Hanosh's boutique is dedicated to cute dresses with bohemian appeal. Exposed brick and dark wooden details provide a warm atmosphere for perusing racks of fabulous frocks from all over the globe, plus pieces from local designers like Samantha Pleet and Mociun. The highlights of the store's selection are the structured, colorful dresses from Japanese designer Tsumori Chisato. Make sure to check out the beauty products from SCO (previously available only at Barney's) and handmade lingerie from London-based Buttress & Snatch.
