Best Guinness downtown.. WOW how this place has changed, the new irish staff has transformed this place,,the service used to be bad and the food used to terrible, now however somebody knows what their doing,,great guinness poured perfectly, great tuna tacos and half roasted chicken or even the lasagne is fantastic and now they have grat deals for events.....do it
The only "gold" thing about it is that it's open 24hrs.. A large menu but bad food; no need to go back. The food was simple but took a long time to get; the fries were over fried, the burger was sub par and the salad tasted like it was from Taco Bell. Going once is more than enough.

Best food and service available 24/7 in FiDi. From the moment you walk into Gold Street, you know that you have arrived at a great neighborhood establishment. An exceptional host staff sets the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. The wait staff is extremely efficient, backed up by runners who deliver your meals promptly. The kitchen turns out a remarkable varied menu. Fresh and delicious meals await patrons whether you are at Gold Street to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or a weekend brunch. The Bar at Gold Street is a place to socialize with friends and co-workers. As a FIDI resident , I am delighted that we finally have a 24/7 restautant that has a reasonable prices and caters to a wide variety of patrons.
What a great addition to the neighborhood!!!.
Living in the area, I was waiting for a quality place to be opened until the wee hours of the morning. And when I saw this signage going up on a window that said "Hamburgers, Sushi, Eggs", I knew that I had to try this place. I was not disappointed. The menu surprised me as did how mouth watering my burger was. I had a sundae that was a couple of scoops of ice cream along with four toppings set off in little separate dishes within the same plate. It was cool and fun to create my own dessert. I was definitely hooked.
Since that initial experience, I have either gone in as part of a group or alone at least once or twice a week. The welcome staff is cordial, the wait staff is extremely accommodating and most importantly, the food is well prepared and tasty. While the fare hasn't changed much, neither has the quality. I recommend the calamari, lollipop wings and the burgers.
Whether you want to eat in a dining setting, at the bar or outside, Gold Street is a nice comfortable place to have a great meal! Enjoy!!!!
Eggs, sushi and burgers? Ew.. This restaurant is nothing special -- actually, it is a bad diner alternative. Not sure why anyone would return here except for that this neighborhood is lacking in places to go.
Maybe if I Lived in the Neighborhood...Maybe. Freinds and I decided to go to Gold Street because between us all we live in various parts of Manhattan and every once in a while like to support the financial district spots especially on weekends. Considering that we've had good meals at Harry's we decided for a casual Sunday night Gold Street would fit the bill. I know they're not trying to be inventive with the food, I love a good meatloaf as much as the next guy, but in all honesty I could've made what we ate at home, even the sushi. Our server was very nice, but obviously new since she had to be shown how to open a bottle of champagne. We ordered appetizers, some sushi and entrees. Imagine our surprise when the first food to be served to us were our entrees, apparently she had put all the food in as one course! We instantly sent the food back and were adament that we get our starters and that the entrees should be fresh and not put under the kitchen's heat lamps. Well the food was fresh because it took at least 30 minutes between courses. We finally threatened to just leave if the food was not delivered within another 5 minutes. Did I mention that the place was not busy at all? The food we ate was OK, but frozen peas and carrots? Macaroni and cheese with no cheese? Mashed Potatoes that were swirled from a pastry tube? Not acceptable. And if the server did order wrongly, what kitchen doesn't realize that all that food should not be served together? Clearly no one was minding the store, the server, and the runner were both apologetic but not 1 manager came to the table, and of course no one offered something for our inconvenience. I'm not they type to believe that a restaurant is obligated to buy a round of drinks everytime something goes wrong, but in this case some acknowledgement from managment would've been appreciated. It seems like there are plenty of people moving into the neighborhood that could support the restaurant, but if they want return customers they have a lot of work to do. I won't be one
Great after work dinner for locals. This place just opened, and it has already improved considerably since the first week. Fun environment, good service, and good food. The small plates are great, as are the desserts. Awesome chocolate milk shake. The entrees are little hit-or-miss, but I am hopeful that this will continue to improve.
Editorial Review. Sushi, burgers, all-day breakfast and a glass-enclosed bar set the scene at this 24-hour downtown diner from the folks behind Harry's.
