A hidden jewel.
I have had the good fortune of having two stress buster massages at La Vie Zen and my experiences have greatly exceeded my expectations!
Carmen (the spa manager) treated me with such gracious hospitality, I felt like a prince. My two masseuses (sic.) had great hands. The rooms are crisp, clean, and professional. I felt pleasant isolation from the din of Madison Avenue below.
I've been to fancy spas like Elizabeth Arden Red Door, and I feel that La Vie Zen provides excellent value for the money. I will be back to LVZ soon!
The only con that I can think of is the location -- I walked by the front of the building twice before finally getting it right. But once you're in, you're golden!

irina. I stopped by La Vie Zen Spa which is right near my office. I got a manicure and pedicure from Irina, and she was fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service excellent. Will definitely go back again.

Worst Service Ever!!!.
I came here because a friend of my recommended i go to Irena for waxing, as it was the fastest wax ever, and i totally agree, Irena was amazing and the only good part of my visit, and the reason i am giving 1 star.
However Carmen, who i believe was the manager, was so rude to me, looking at these other reviews i can only assume she is writing her own because another friend said she had a similar experience and also would not go back, if ever the manager changes i will come back for Irena, but living in New York i can have people treat me badly for free

Fantastic Welcoming Experience. I agree with the previous two posts. I went to La Vie Zen to buy packages for my bridesmaids before my wedding, and during a time when a lot of organization was coming together and there was a lot to think about, I LOVED that this was so easy and pleasant. Carmen was absolutely delightful, welcoming, and made me feel so at home and the whole experience made me so happy to give these packages as a gift to my amazing friends. I was proud to tell them about what they were getting and Carmen even set me up with beautiful gift envelopes and bags for the gift presentation. She thought of everything so that I didn't have to. I have since heard back that the girls' sessions were fantastic and I look forward to keeping a long relationship with this Spa. Loved it. Love Carmen.

Getaway from the City and Relax. I very much agree with Cindy726 I had a terrific time the other day at the spa and was greeted such warmly by Carmen when I arrived off the elevator. If you are looking for a place to get away during the day, relax and forget about stress, I highly recommend getting over to 420 Madison Avenue and visiting their Bamboo room after a massage! Delightful!

Service is GREAT!. As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed. The staff was pleasant and the Manager of the spa Carmen made me feel at home. The massage was excellent and the facial was top of the line products. I would highly recommend to my friends. Looking forward to my return to the spa.

Great therapist awful welcome.
I came for a massage several weeks ago, and had a very mixed experience, i will start with the good.
My therapist Robin was amazing, she had clearly been doing this for a long time and was very knowledgeable, i have actually been to this spa before and got a foo foo massage from Michelle (i think that was her name) however a friend of mine who has used Robyn before recommended i go back and even paid for my massage (i wish i had more friends like that) i didn't feel rushed and she really put me at ease, and i felt soooo relaxed afterwards, i wouldnt hesitate to use Robin again.
Ok now for the bad.
The manager Carmen was cold and rude, she is either very new or should find a job where she doesnt need to work with the public, she berated a member of staff for all to hear, and made me feel like i was inconveniencing her, if the spa was busy i might understand a little but i think i was the only client.
On the whole i would go back if only for robin, but i would hope it was Carmens day off.

Oasis in Midtown. Not your typical Midtown stuffy spa! As soon as you walk through the doors, you are transported to a peaceful, calm and welcoming environment that instantly melts stress away. Attention to detail is impeccable, from the super clean space, to the tranquil fountains and complimentary herbal tea and healthy snacks, you feel pampered from the moment you step inside. The staff is super knowledgeable and Carmen will take fantastic care of you. I will definitely be back!

Sweet Serenity.
I've ventured to many a spa in my day, but I must say "La Vie Zen" is in a class of its own. You will always receive the warmest greeting as soon as you step off the elevator.
Carmen ( I believe she manages that location) had me at "Hello" Her personality is so gracious and full of elegance...you'll feel right at home and want to put your feet up immediately. You are offered tea, nuts or dried fruit upon arrival and the staff are remarkable. Jana and Elena are the best estheticians I have ever experienced. I fall fast asleep while I'm getting treatments there...who sleeps during a facial...ME! Their products are organic (have to love that) and you leave there feeling and looking Fabulous. What more can I say...OH NAMASTE!!

ZEn at La Vie Zen.
I knew when I booked the appointments with Carmen that our experience would be unique. Carmen, the Manager listened to my every request . As soon as we crossed the threshold, we were greeted with warm birthday wishes for my husband. Everyone there knew that this day was very special for both of us. The chaos of the workaday world seemed to dissolve as soon as we entered the spa. Everyone was so caring. Talk about being pampered! This was the real deal. After changing into our cozy robes, we were taken to a quiet waiting room reseved just for us and served hibiscus and green tea and healthy treats of nuts,raisins and dried fruit.
We were then introduced to our therapists who once again echoed happy b-day wishes. We were permitted to simply unwind and relish the serenity of this blissful envirionment. No one pushed us to our appointments. Our massages and wraps were excellent but our facials won the prize. Elena is truly the very best facialist we have ever had. Her fingers simply danced across our faces. Elena has the hands of an angel. Our senses were energized; our bodies and our minds were thoroughly refreshed. The only downside of this incredible Zen experience was that it had to end! However, whenever we return toNYC, you can be sure that La VIE Zen will be at the top of our "todo" list.
It was a transformative experience. We are still glowing!
