In Short – The neon onslaught that is Ricky's beauty stores is almost absent in its all-white Soho salon, but the inner wild diva makes herself known in other ways. An elaborate chandelier of golden hairdryers is the salon centerpiece, and DJs turn the place into a disco on weekends. It's almost hard not to become distracted from the main purpose of your visit--be it an edgy statement or classic look. The magenta-mohawked stylist can work cut and color magic on any kind of hair. –
Relover Salon

Love the name change I just wanted to say what a pleasant experience I recently had with Allyn and his assistant Tania . They truly made a bad hair day to the greatest. Over uptown near Columbia University! Quality does pay off. Keep up with the great service. Thanks Maria G
- Pros: everything
- Cons: update website
Best cut I've ever had
by rosada77
I've been going to Revolver (formerly Shears Hustle & Blw) for over a year now, and have continually received some of the best hair cuts of life (I'm a guy by the way). Though with the new ownership the price has gone up (now $45), I don't see myself switching locations any time soon. Many stylists don't have a clue when it comes to barbering skills for men's cuts, but the staff at Revolver knows their stuff. Allison - a new edition since the recent ownership/name change - gave me the best hair cut of my life a couple weeks back which is definitely worth a shout out. She is technically precise and a true perfectionist - qualities I appreciate when it comes to my hair. If you're looking for some flare and big personality by a man who cuts with the enthusiasm of Edward scissor hands, go to Massimo at the 3rd ave and 14th street Ricky's. He is the man, and his skills are right on par with Allison's - just offers a different experience - one that you won't forget I might add. Though my work location gives me easier access to the Soho Revolver, I'll surely be back up to 3rd ave to pay Massimo a visit.
- Pros: Allison and Massimo - two of the best stylist I've come across
- Cons: wasn't a fan of the recent $5 price increase... but its still worth it.
Great hair stylist found on Crosby Street!
by bojogeo
I work in the beauty business and I have to say the haircut I received from Lisa Stancliffe was the best I've had in a long time! She did a great job with my fine hair and cowlicks! The salon, now named "Revolver", is small and no-frills (although perfectly cool). Don't let that stop you from making an appt with Lisa- you'll be glad you did! Plus the pricing can't be beat- I've paid 3-4 times this amount for haircuts that weren't as good. The one bad thing is she only works on Tuesdays- so book an appt. before she becomes too popular!
- Pros: Lisa Stancliffe- a hidden gem of a hair stylist!
- Cons: Lisa only works on Tuesdays
