Editorial Review for Bon Chon Chicken – by Justin Hartung
The Scene
Bon Chon hides on the second floor of an innocuous looking midtown office building. Inside, however, the restaurant feels like the set of a 90s music video, complete with metal piping, flat-screen TVs and ear-slitting pop and techno. The space is divided into a front dining room with a window on Fifth Avenue, a middle bar area, and a back lounge with knee-high seating. All are packed with a boisterous, Koreatown crowd.
The Food
Waits for food can be long, but after one bite of the house specialty--Korean-style fried chicken--you won't mind too much. Available in lip-tingling chile or salty soy-garlic flavors, the drumsticks and wings get lightly battered, resulting in a thin, crisp skin. The tasty, if somewhat incongruent, accompaniment of steak-cut fries get a surprising addition of rosemary. Pickled radish cubes helps soothe fried taste buds, though peppery bowls of ramen and greasy kimchee-stuffed pancakes heat them right back up.

Hello Welcome to Bon Chon. Here are some rule if you should read this Review 1, The elevator is not to be use by bon chon customer, Only for emergency use only so Please use staircase to the 2nd Floor. 2. There is a ID Check (due to many young customer coming in with Fake ID) 3. No kids are allowed(due to power drinker that might use profanely) 4 On tues, weds, thurs, fri, weekend, bon chon then to get crowded like after 7pm(HappyHour) but dies down after 10pm so if that help in any way try to work around with that time frame. 5. Bon Chon is in the heart of K-Town(KoreanTown) so most of the worker mostly speak Korean and there are some that do accomodate with some English they know but you would get your order for sure. 6 there is no smoking in there building, bathroom, staircase,or even in the lobby... 7. Mostly bonchon host to walkin customer but we try i'll best to reserve seating for call-in... Thank for your understanding Bon Chon & Building Management.

I was here last night with some friends for chicken and beer. I had not been in Bonchon in a while, but it was never disappointing. We had a large chicken dish and Ddukbokki (sauted Korean rice cake w/ spicy sauce). My friends and I had a very good time and loved the food. I really like their fried chicken, but since I don't like their long line, I usually deliver. (this is only bad thing about this place)
Pros: Food, Service
Cons: Long wait, Very loud (sometimes hard to make conversations)
