Best electrolysis in Manhattan! After trying other places, I started going to Magic Touch in 2002. Surila (who works in the afternoon and evenings) and her sister Manjula (who works mornings) really know their stuff. I have extremely thick, dark, stubborn hair that is hard to remove. Surila is the only electrologist I've been to who got out all my ingrown hairs - and without ever once scarring my face. They also do laser hair removal. And again no burns or scarring. Both sisters are very pleasant and friendly. (They love to share their delicious homecooked Indian food with clients too:) I've never waited long for an appointment. They've often accommodated me last minute. I'm extremely pleased with the results and at this point only need to go in for touchups. I would never go anywhere else.

I am also known as (Magdalia) I started with Surila in July of 2010 and man is she the best! I have to say, I was very nervous to go since I have seen horror stories concerning electrolysis on African American Skin. The one thing that attracted me to Magic Touch is that Surila specializes in African American Skin, I am Haitian American, and have combination skin that SCARS EASILY, ever since I have been going to Surila, her techniques have been working. I have ingrown hairs and she was able to remove them WITHOUT ANY SCARRING! The office is cozy yet private and its located across Century 21 ( a plus for my shopping femmes). She is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend her for any treatments.

I highly recommend! I've been lucky to find a few good electrologists over the years so I know a talent when I see one. That's why I was so happy to find Surila at Magic Touch. She's very gentle but effective and I don't get redness or irritation after which is a big plus since I have a fair skin tone. She is a very friendly woman as well and I enjoy chatting with her. Her office is inviting and convenient to get to, right by a number of subways.

Absolutely the Best!. Excellent work done by a gentle, talented electrologist named Surila. She is a gem. You will not feel the needle going into your skin - it's unusual to find someone with this gift. Also, her hours are flexible & her location is very convenient to almost every subway line. I've had a few bad experiences with other practitioners, so I feel very lucky to have found her! She's absolutely the best.

Excellent results with a gifted electrologist. I had spent a lot of time & a lot of money going to a very experienced & highly rated electrologist. I found her personality to be a bit of a trial but more to the point six months later there was very little progress. In spite of her view that I needed to be patient & that hers was the best method (galvanic), I decided to look at other options.

I did some research & made short consultation appointments with several of the highest rated & longest practicing electrologists. Magic Touch just happened to be 4th on my list. The business specializes in the blend method which, if it's to be effective, requires a high level of skill.

The office was not the most elegant, the whole presentation not the most polished, but after spending just a few minutes with Surila I made an appointment to try one session. Sometimes you just instinctively know when something is right.

I have been going to Surila now for 2 months & could not be happier with the outcome. Here's what I can tell you - Surila is so gentle you barely feel the needle going into the skin. I'm not saying the blend method is a painless procedure but I don't mind some discomfort because truthfully I'm seeing incredible results. Surila is intuitive, fast, & totally focused. She also happens to be a lovely & decent person with a light personality - completely opposite to my previous experience.

And best of all - she's got the magic hands. I look (& feel) fabulous!

Fantastic work and very private. I’ve been going to Surila for a couple of months now and have been very impressed with her results. Without fail, I leave her office absent of either hair or scars on the area she worked. What’s more, she’s very discrete (I’m a guy) and I never have any reservations about my privacy at her office. Her prices are on par with other electrologists in the city, and they are plainly posted as you walk in. As I said, I’ve been very pleased with her services and will continue to visit her for all such needs in the future.

Best Blend Electrolysis NYC at magic Touch. Period.. Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal, IF done correctly. When looking for an electrologist there are several things to consider. Pay attention to the following:

-Does it feel as if though your hair is getting plucked or released?

-Is your skin suffering with every treatment (ie: scabs, too much inflammation, breakouts)

-Is the most efficient method being used (ie: blend, which combines galvanic and short-wave currents to deliver enhanced results)? There are several methods of electrolysis and while ALL work, blend is by far the most efficient as it levels all trade-offs (time required, money spent, impact on skin) producing the most efficient results.

-Is your hair becoming thinner with every treatment and lesser in density? It may take up to 6 months to really start noticing results, but within 3 months of treatment one should be able to notice less hair.

As a scientist and an engineer, I was very careful with my selection, as I scouted through various boroughs of New York to find that one electrologist I could deem as "PERFECT". Technique and skill are by far the MOST important factors a competent electrologist will have. Fancy machines are just that, fancy. If not used correctly they can hurt your skin. I searched high and far, experiencing scabs, burns, minor pitting (which faded over time) until I found THE ONE. Surila, form Magic Touch in the financial district has done what I deemed impossible. Her hand is blessed. She got rid of the hair with no bruising, no scabs, no skin discoloration. I have somewhat sensitive skin prone to hyperpigmentation and HAVE not experienced ANY sort of problem or discoloration. My once thick hair is about 70% gone and while I used to have to go in weekly for 90-120 minute treatments now I can easily get "cleaned up" with a 15 minute session every other week. It has been about 7 months and I am right on track - or perhaps better than I thought I'd be- I should be done by the end of this year, if not sooner. Starting my eyebrows next!!!

She is a world class electrologist, the best indeed, but her most admirable quality is her heart. She is a good person, honest and hard working. I commute all the way from upstate NY to come see her, and she never hesitates to offer me a plate a food if I'm hungry, a smile and a warm hug. She will make an effort to fit you in her busy schedule always and is understanding if you have to cancel last minute without none of that 24-hour notice cancellation fee non-sense (very practical for New Yorkers where something always "shows up")

I love Surila and Magic Touch!! This is indeed the place for electrolysis. Worth every penny in your wallet and every minute of your time! Trust me, I'd know ( I tried roughly 6-7 electrologist before setting on her).

Outstanding service and results. Newest computerized electrolysis machine backed by a professional technician with two decades of experience. I suffered from facial hair and ingrowns for a long time. A few weeks ago i recieved a huge pimple over an ingrown it was horrible i went to magic touch and surila removed a twin papula ingrown hair tramped deep in the pimple with no bloodshed i was so amazed i had to share this. She gives me extra time free of charge sometime she is very sweet and professional. I travel about an hour to her office even though there are closer electrolysis to me. I know surila at magic touch knows what she is doing.

Although her equip is the best on the market the technician herself uses precision in targeting hairs via electrologist and laser. A courtesy consultation allows magic touch technician to give you an idea of what you need and what will work best for your hair and skin type. At magic touch you will find security in a relaxing environment knowing that you are recieving the highest grade service from a technician with over 20yrs of experience in her field. I have be en a customer of Surila at Magic Touch for about a year now. I havent ever considered another electrolysis since i started with her. Quality and accuracy. I strongly recommend Magic Touch. The best service i ever recieved.
