Best place I've been to. And I've seen plenty.. Really great spot to go to. My first tattoo (first mistake) was done by some other artist elsewhere. I went to Matt who did a great cover up for me and I will go to him from here on in. Really clean and respectful environment. Everyone is highly talented and they know what they are doing. You wont walk out with some freakish blob that you'll regret for the rest of your life I've already gone back to him once more and plan to return in a few months. You might have to shell out some dollars but trust me I wish I would have gone to him first to get it right rather than listen to my dumba$$ friends that suggested I go for some $50 con-artist. But if you do your research you will find that the prices are in line with what many reputable artists charge.

Killer Koi. Yo Matt!

Thanks for the killer koi tattoo. The colors are perfect and what a light hand!

Can't wait to come back for some more ink!

Just keeps getting better and better..... I've been tattooed at Sacred over the past few years and have to say I LOVE the vibe of the new Sacred Location.
This time around I got tattooed by Picasso. All I can say is WOW! I'll be coming back for more work.
The new staff is super friendly and they even brought back the manager from the old location. I think his name was Kevin. I remember this guy because we both have the same last name. LOL

Take the time and check this shop out. It's so worth walking up 1 flight of stairs.

Nice art, bitchy desk help. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the girl at the desk. She's got an attitude and if the artist I ended up speaking to wasn't such a solid guy I would have passed. If I'm looking for an artist to put something on me permanently and drop close to $1000 on the experience (I want a full sleeve), don't give me some inexperienced self-important teenager with a blank stare at the front desk. The artists are great, the space is nice and clean.

I must argue the last review...Sacred Tattoo has a long history. Sacred Tattoo has been around for so long. It has always been a reputable tattoo studio. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. We all have bad days...give the girl a break. The studio is beautiful and the artists talented. You be the judge, I highly recommend Sacred Tattoo!

Sacred Tattoo AVOID AVOID. Pretentious, snotty. I walked in and the recpetionist was rude and obnoxious. She was sucking on fruit and kept on sucking on it right in my face, rolling her eyes and being deliberately snotty. She was unwelcoming, didn't say hello and seemed unwilling to speak to me at all. I had a flower on my shirt, maybe I failed her fashion code.

Avoid this place. There are many many tattoo parlors in New York with very talented artists. There is no reason to put up with elitist attitudes and disrespect. Unless you're a full on masochist that enjoys being treated badly and feels that enhances your tattoo experience. Personally I do not. Confident professionals don't behave like this. Insecure posers do and who wants an insecure poser to permanently ink your skin.

Editorial Review. A consolidation of Bowery Tattoo and Sacred Tattoo, this cavernous parlor offers permanent cosmetics and henna in addition to tattoos and piercings.
