AWFUL SERVICE, DISRESPECTFUL AND SNOBBISH. THE SALES ASSISTANT ACTED AS IF HE WERE SELLING YACHTS AND DID ME A HUGE FAVOR BY EVEN LOOKING MY WAY.

I really like products by Michael Aram, BUT I will NEVER SHOP AT THIS LOCATION again.

I wanted to get a bowl and a serving set from Michael Aram's Orchid Collection for my friend's wedding from Macy's, but it turned out that they were sold out of the bowls. So, I ended up getting only the Orchid serving set there and came down to the store on 18th street specifically for the bowl.

I was on the floor first, walking around and just admiring all the beautiful things they have there, a minute or two later a married couple in their 50-60s came in. The sales assistant - a gay man in his fifties - approached us and asked if we needed help and I said that yes, I had a question. The couple said they did to, but told him to go ahead and help me first (because I was there first). With an openly disappointed expression on his face he turned to me and gave me a super short answer and then proceeded to walking after the married couple with a much more respectul attitude. I was a little put off by that, but went on to look around.

When the couple left, I told him that I would like to buy the bowl that I came in for and have it gift-wrapped, I also asked if they could gift-wrap the Orchid serving set that I got at Macy's because both things were a part of one wedding present and I wouldn't want to have them wrapped in different paper. He said they wouldn't do it! Because I didn't purchase it at their store! But, I said, my Macy's purchase was BY THE SAME DESIGNER THAT THEY REPRESENTED - and I came to their store because the sales assistant at Macy's told me about it. I didn't know it even existed!

Long story short - he wouldn't wrap the Orchid serving set, purchased at Macy's, even though I said I didn't mind paying for the service.

I was so mad at the stupidity of it and the fact that I wasted my time coming all the way downtown when I could have gone straight to Bloomingdale's in midtown, that I told the gay sales assistant, that I didn't appreciate being passed over a few minutes earlier for wealthier-looking clients (the married couple) and that him not willing to help me out with the wrapping left me no choice but to go and spend my money elsewhere. Which is what I did!

Got the Orchid bowl at Bloomingdale's from a smiling sales assitant an hour later. Got both gifts wrapped for a reasonable fee and without any drama!

THE STORE ON 18TH STREET IS A BAD ADVERTISING FOR MICHAEL ARAM!

I won't advise anyone to shop there!

Stunning Store. I was turned onto this store by a friend. It is just amazing. My clients love their gifts and they actually think I spent a fortune.

Very Rude Staff (average and overpriced product). Very rude staff. I recently purchased a gift for my girlfriend and when she went to exchange it for something else they were very condescending and unhelpful. The items are not that unusual (of okay quality) and certainly not worth the price. If you do purchase something on sale it can't be returned but of course they do not tell you this.

I will never go back nor will my girlfriend or her friends. it was that bad of an in-store experience.

The perfect spot for the unique home products and all of my gifts!. I adore this store! Whenever I need a wedding or birthday gift, I head here. Not only is the shopping experience one of a kind, but the products are so different and imaginative that they are perfect for anyone on your list. I own some of the bowls and vases and they compliment my eclectic and traditional taste. Don't pass this place by!
