“But leave room for their fabulous dessert cart, especially the tiramisu and their italian-style cheesecake - both to-die-for!”
“The new location is amazing, with a great bar area (have now taken to meeting friends for drinks there) and a spacious second floor for private events.”
“If you've been to all the tourist trap restaurants that everyone typically goes to, and you're ready for "real" food at a comparable price, friendly wait-staff and an attentive owner, then you'll be happy here.”
“had a terrible time deceiding what to have and MJ suggested that I have half of both of my choices!”
“If you are looking for a great meal at affordable prices without the pretensions of other places in Midtown, this is the place.”

“The long wait for their renovation was totally worth it - the new place is beautiful but still cozy (they kept the brick walls!)”
June 02, 2013 Our first mom and daughters day ever spent in the theatre district and wanting Italian....this is the MUST place to go!!!! The wait staff went above and beyond to ensure the MOST ENJOYABLE MEAL EVER....from drinks (the Pellegrino Lemonade), to appetizer (the Classico Antipasto) to gnocchi made special for my sister with one of the most amazing pestos EVER, to veal that melted in your mouth, and then DESSERT....the most incredible Tiramisu we have EVER had, poached pears that were heaven on earth and my favorite and the most DELICIOUS Affogato I have ever experienced! Soooo reasonably priced for the area! We will definitely be regulars! Thank you for making our special day one to remember!
IF YOU'RE IN MIDTOWN - DON'T MISS THIS ONE!.
My wife and I have eaten in good Italian restaurants all over Manhattan and this one rates right up there with the best of them for the price and service. We tried this one based on a previous review in May before going to the theatre and it easily lived up to its reputation. We would recommend it for a pre or post theatre meal. Do keep in mind that its busy and NOISY pre theatre, so if you're looking for quiet you might want to try after the show.
I might suggest reservations for pre-theatre as it is now getting more busy due to reviews from Citysearch and others, but you can count on the service and food being very good no matter when you go.
Visited Trattoria Trecolori w 5 guests for the first time and it definitely won't be the last time. The location is great as well as the inside decor. We were greeted right away considering it was a busy Friday evening. The wine list was vast and the dinner menu include a few of Italy's finest dishes. Eveything we ordered was delicious. Especially the tiny olives!!!! From the minute we walked in until it was time to leave, we truly enjoyed our meal at Tattoria Trecolori. Shout out to our server Dominic!!!!
Not sure of the name of the dishes I ate but they were both delicious. One was the seafood appetizer with stuffed mushrooms, clams, and shrimp. The pasta dish was a mix of white meat chicken and sauages in a lite red sauce. Thanks again to the bartender and a cute waitress that wanted to eat my food. Not exactly sure if she was referring to the dish or me.
Always wonderful food.
My wife and I have been dining here for several years.
We travel to the city from Danbury, CT several times each year to see Broadway shows, concerts and the opera.
Everytime we travel to the city we dine at Trattoria Trecolori.
Philip, Marco and Victor are excellent managers and the waiter staff is absolutely superb.
MJ, Tony, Joey, Alberto and the rest are professional and always treat us like family.
The food is consistently excellent.
excellent - lives up to the hipe!. Romantic - as well as great food. Wonderful, casual, perfect before a play, but make reservations. Everything is fabulous! Give it a try, you will not be sorry, and the wine selection is out of this world.
Tourist Trap. Went here after the theater with a friend upon reading all the great reviews. Bread was good. Salad wilted. Entre hardly edible. Sorry. This is a tourist trap. Go to Carmines if you have to eat in the theater district.
Great Food, Exceptional Service. My sister and I were in town for the weekend. This restaurant was recommended by a NYC resident after we had already made dinner reservations following a Broadway show. We stopped in for a light lunch before the show and were so impressed, we cancelled our previous dinner reservations and returned for dinner. The food was great and the owner and staff were very friendly. The waiters were well dressed and were very creative in their presentation of the desserts which were delicious.
Fantastic. So awesome we went back after the show for dessert and were not disappointed.
can't wait to go back!!. I was so impressed with this resturant! We were persuaded to dine at this resturant, a decision I will not ever forget or regret!! the wait staff was very helpful. I had a terrible time deceiding what to have and MJ suggested that I have half of both of my choices!! MJ helped with decisions all the way from drinks to deserts. At the end of the evening experience we told MJ that they needed to raise their prices!! We couldn't believe how inexpensive for the great service, and wonderful atmoshere! I can't wait until my next visit to NYC to visit our new favorite resturante!!
