No need for Wall Street moguls to expense that town car ride--Hermes' upscale, orange-flecked goods are just a lunch-break splurge away, including the French label's famously colorful silk ties and scarves. Inside New York's second Hermes storefront, day traders and tourists navigate through a tight maze of frosted glass walls and rich chocolaty wood, all while ogling such unique treasures as gilded ashtrays, china patterns and leather director's chairs. Most serious shoppers are swathed in a kind of sweater-set uniform, but the staff is courteous to all.
