Bad Service – It's sad to say that the service was what did it to me. I enjoyed my margarita and my crabcakes but the bartender was incredibly inattentive, paying attention more to the business attired males at the bar and not to me and my friend. She never came and asked if we needed anything, never made sure we were happy with our drink and meals, did not even attempt to make suggestions to get us to spend more money. I left still wanting more but wouldn't spend a dime for her service. There was a complete disregard for us being there thought she wasn't personable but she was chatting up the whole bar except us two girls. I went with someone who raved about this place and always had great service please not that she's never had THIS SERVER!
Just because of this, I wouldn't go back.
Tasty Brunch, Cheap, Quick, Great Atmosphere – I usually eat breakfast/brunch at the diner a few blocks east, but Vynl provides a little bit of atmosphere. I love the music/disco/record theme and it makes a meal slightly more enjoyable. Vynl was a perfect choice for my Dad and I on Saturday for brunch around 10am. Our omlettes came out quickly and they were delicious. The service was fine -- no complaints there. It was everything we were looking for... tasty, quick and cheap. The brunch food options are pretty standard, but it sure beats eating brunch at a diner... I'll be back for sure.
LOVE LOVE LOVE – This was a lot of fun and the crowd was great, we felt like for cheap eats we really did well, the food was excellent and we just all thought we were really out on the town for a fun night. The portions were great and the selections on the menu were really delicious. Going back for sure. I found this from newnewyorker dot com
An uptown spinoff of the Theater District's Asian-accented diner. – In Short
The inexpensive American-Thai menu offers a random mix that couldn't be more satisfying. American favorites, like spicy meat loaf with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy, win out over Asian-inspired mainstays. Wasabi-seared tuna wraps and vegetable-stuffed pad thai taste fresh, but it's hard to beat the juicy burgers dripping with melted cheese. Unexpected extras, such as sweet brioche rolls, crunchy homemade potato chips and red-cabbage slaw, distinguish Vynl as a food-serious diner. Don't skip coconut-banana bread pudding: It's comfort on a plate.
