“If you like to have great meal this is the place to go !”
“Harry Cipriani has to be one of the best restaurant's I have ever been to.”
“The staff is friendly and very attentive”
the food is terrible.
Harrys seems to have stayed in business because of tourists who don't know any better and a following of the UES senior citizens.
The food and service are terrible and it VERY overpriced.
Excellent! (Provided someone else is paying.).
We visited in December. First off, the waiters were extremely personable and helpful. We even had screaming kid with us which they came over and entertained for a bit. talked about their kids etc. Food was great, creative big selection if u have the $ and yes it is expensive. nota stuffy atmosphere.
I will return.
if a 24$ burger scares you, best to stay away. but to me a 24$ burger is a future conversation.
we walked in at 4. but reservations would be required for dinner.
the ppl watching was great. funny since they were watching us. with smiles and compliments on our baby.
Consistently Hot Crowd - Great to Impress. My wife and I love this place. Absolutely great people watching and despite some other reviews the food was great. I had a reservation (thanks to a friend) but yet my wait was still quite long (which is why it got four stars instead of five). Another great New York Experience.
Great !!!. Great place, delicious food , very friendly and helpful staff. Overall experience was better than i expected. Harry Cipriani you get A+ !
Excellent. I am very used to many high end restaurants. Harry Cipriani has to be one of the best restaurant's I have ever been to. The food, service and detail surpassed our expectations. We dined and which was a special treat. Loved it and will recommend to all my friends.
Excellent !!!.
If you like to have great meal this is the place to go !!! The staff is friendly and very attentive .
This place ROCKS !!!
cipriani is thieves and they'll cheat u. according to nyc restaurant inspection cipriani is a pretty dirty place they failed about 8 inspections in the past 12 months and have to be reinspected till they would prepare clean food, they also take the grey goose vodka when u order a 2nd bottle u give the 2nd one as an imitation, they irp off the customers oh yea hte 22 graturity charge it goes to the oweners of cipriani so it actually isn't a gratuity, the owners are getting sued in court for not preventing sexual harassment, they also are in trouble with ny dept of labor for unpaid wages, in one of there inspections at wall st i believe in winter of 2007 they were marked down for having flys around there food, there bellinis are full of sugar also, u might as well drink a coke and there rest with the downtown cafe was closed down for 3 days for not having a license, they are the defiintion of golddiggers, bunch of wannabe walmart owners
Bigger better more expensive. Excellent proper service, the food is very aptly prepared from excellent ingredients. The menu is "simple" italian food but prepared the best traditional way. There is no fancy Nouvelle Cuisine but just classic Italian fare. Expensive but that is a choice.
The Sherry-Netherland's haute Venetian restaurant and celeb magnet still charms, even in its renovated reincarnation..
The Scene
The prim dining room, with its wood-covered walls and a tiny four-seat bar, holds a crowd of jacketed men and effortlessly beautiful women. Regulars are greeted by name, a bevy of white-jacketed waiters scurry to-and-fro, and a table of dolled-up women sing happy birthday to an old friend--it's just another night at this highbrow "Cheers" for New York's old-money set.
The Food
For a celeb-magnet restaurant, the Italian-inspired food is reliably good and the portions are generous. Though many start with a salad, more daring options such as the light, lemon-tinged swordfish carpaccio are rightfully tempting; while a less than creamy burrata appetizer is not. Pastas shine--especially the simple plate of tagliardi verdi tossed with tomatoes or the perfectly al dente seafood-stuffed risotto--as do extremely rare and succulent lamb chops or an impressively sized branzino. Desserts follow a decadent path: A light and fluffy lemon meringue slice sits in a sinfully buttery crust.
Hits: Sceney spots often skimp on quality and quantity, and neither is true here. If you want to see how those with money live--or want to live the life--this is a good primer.
Misses: Patrons pay for the experience as much as the food, so those who don't think atmosphere is worth a $16 slice of pie or an $18 drink should look elsewhere.
