I have been a customer with Ambit Energy for the pass five months and I have seen the saving in my Con Edison bill. I enjoyed the serve and savings so much that I became a marketing consultant with Ambit Energy. I am doing my best to let people know that Con Edison has a program call PowerYourWay which lets them know they can choose a different energy supplier like Ambit Energy and save money every month on their light bill. For years I have been with Reliant, I am going to use Reliant as a comparison vs Ambit Energy because these are the only two companies I have experienced. Ambit energy is a rip off, it is not true that you will save money in any way. From mid (15th) September when I started to the end of September (which is half a month) I received a bill for $77.00, where as when I was with Reliant my average MONTHLY billing would be around $50.00. Ambit Energy was charging me average billing, but check this out, the total always came out around $140.00 no matter how careful you use your electricity. Ambit Energy is full of $#&^@. After 5 months of being with them I canceled their service and went back with Reliant, but what do they do? they took me off from the average billing to charging by electric usage plus fee's which made the bill $370.00... WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!! I called complaining why they changed my average to calculating electric usage and they said.... if you are no longer a customer of Ambit Energy you are automatically taken off of average usage. What doesn't make sense is for the period of being charged "I AM STILL A CUSTOMER, and I WILL REMAIN A CUSTOMER TILL MY FINAL BILL"... they responded that someone will investigate and call back, but I haven't heard nothing. Secondly according to their terms and services "average is calculated by adding "YOUR" last 11 monthly usage : dividing : then calculating. This part makes sense however the month I started was on September meaning "MY" usage begins on September. What does this Terrible company do? they used JAN thru AUG of the apartments history electric usage to determine what my bill should be... WHAT A RIP OFF!!!! Ambit uses someone elses electric usage to determine what your bill should be!!! Within 5 months of being with Ambit Energy I have spent $900.00, vs, Being with Reliant for 6 months I have spent $300.00. DO NOT GO WITH AMBIT ENERGY!!!!
