ayurveda for weight loss. I was introduced to Ayurveda during my trip to India last year. Recently I consulted the Ayurvedic physician here for weight loss and she suggested me to go for a "panchakarma" - the ayurvedic way for detoxifying and cleansing. I had tried some diet pills and other weight loss theories before but nothing had seemed to work. But Dr Tara made me thoroughly understand my individual body type and the good and bad of my system. It was a very intense cleansing and detox procedure, that involved customized body treatments and diet and she also put me on the right lifestyle for properly managing my own body constitution. I am amazed with the results and after understanding how it works I have no problems following everything that Dr. Tara has suggested me. My skin has never been so clear and I feel completely like a new person now. Thanks to Ayurveda and Dr. Tara.

FineLiving Is ONLY a Spa. When I was looking to do panchakarma last summer (to help treat acne) I went to FineLiving NY Ayurveda. They were more affordable than some other places and close by my workplace.

The treatment process is over a week long, you pay up-front with no refund and you expect professional, kind, and thorough treatment. This is not what I got for $1,200 (and I am a student who was looking to make an investment in my health! Tired of going to dermatologists year after year, I trusted that this place was a clinic/spa like most Ayurveda treatment centers).

I think that the people who run this place are not well trained enough to even work in an Ayurveda treatment center, let alone run one. They are over-worked because they overbook. The are anxious, rude at times, and are not honest (they switched my start dates without telling me, late to open the second day, rushed me through therapeutic treatments because they over-booked, and the "doctor" did not respond to any of my emails and rarely to phone calls when I had questions- a Vaidya is supposed to take excellent care of patients and she did not).

They do a disservice to the people who come looking for real help through this ancient, highly effective medicine and they do not deserve your business.

Ayurveda treatment centers are clinics with the atmosphere and professional warmth of spas. This place is not a clinic. If you live in New York and want more than a nice, affordable bikini wax pick another treatment center and do your homework carefully.

Amazing Massage. I have been extremely stressed out the past few weeks. Today was the first day that I had some free time for some pampering.. So I went on the quest for something different and stumbled upon this place. I just came back from an incredibly relaxing massage.. Nancy was great! She asked me if the room temperature was right, what hurt, etc. I was so relaxed after the treatment that I was almost speechless! Can't wait to go back.. Did I mention how incredibly soft my skin is now!!

Great Massage and Facial. I had the greatest massage and facial of my life time. Will be back soon. The best thing was the Massage Oil used according to my body type and for the facial also they mix the herbs for exfoliatiation and mask instantly. Head massage was mind blowing....

Best Massage of my life. This was the first time for me to try an Ayurvedic treatment. I had a gift certificate from my sister that she had purchased at FineLiving New York Ayurveda. As soon as I reached there, I was handed over two papers to provide some information. One of them was to determine my Ayurvedic constitution. Then the massage came... The oil was picked according to my constitution and the massage strokes were really really interesting. It was just five minutes and I was already relaxed. Rest of the time, I was in heavens...It's really hard to describe my experience but in simple words I can say that it was the most most amazing massage I ever had. I am hooked... Try the massage here and oh, boy... you would be hooked too!!! I bet!

The reflexology followed after the massage and that was another secret of this place.

My next appointment is Ayurvedic Massage and Shirodhara (Dripping of warm oil on the forehead) after two weeks.
