Queens >Club Fitness NY & Spa
“... you'll find this place quite comfortable.”
“Also there cafe has the best chocolate peanut butter protein shakes and there spa is so plush I often do everything from working out to getting my hair blown out its a all around 1stop spot!”
“great place to break a sweat!”
“The staff is very helpful and while you're getting assistance, they never try to push personal training services on you (which I would love, but just can't afford).”
“There aren't as many amenities (spa, sauna, beautiful entryway, beautiful dressing rooms) but the equipment is above par and I'd rather spend my money in an establishment I trust.”
“As long as I am living in Astoria I plan to stay a faithful member to this fabulous place!”
Quite lousy gym for a price you pay. Don't believe people who say it's similar to equinox - it's lie. It's not even match to NYSC. Floors sometimes dirty, all machines at least 5 years old, and some machines are very very old and useless (looks ok when you join, but later you notice half of them almost nobody use), some weights adjustments don't work - so you can't add 5 pounds, you have to choose next big plate. I don't know why it's the best gym in Astoria (and it's not the best in queens how previous reviewer claimed). Even if it's the case it's quite bad compare to what you can find in Manhattan even for the same price. I complained to management about equipment, and they didn't do anything (I guess they think worn wires don't need to be replaced until they are torn). At the end of the day guys start to wash floors and you either have to inhale detergent they use or leave... People who go there are regular folks so don't expect that people are sorted out by price - same screams and phone calls as pretty much everywhere else. It's ok as place to work out, not very bad, but OK not awesome. I think most of reviews here are fake and made by gym owners.
Simply the best!!!. My friend gave me a guest pass and told me Club fitness was voted the best gym in Queens for four years in a row... im simply in love with this gym...Beautiful place! Machines are wonderful, different classes, dance,boxing,yoga,pilates,bootcamp,zumba,spin...I felt very welcomed! Super clean! Its impossible not to keep fit in this place! They also have free parking which is very rare in Queens!
Probably the best gym i have ever seen. Excellent equipment, with great schedule times, and very clean inside.
Their price list is average and they giving you so much with what you pay. I love the spin class, and all the instructors there, and of course boxing which is my favorite (too much sweat thought :). Anyway, i suggest to go and have a look there.
awful gym. Would not go to this gym if someone paid my membership and offered me money to go. Lowsy service, arrogant staff, especially the owner. Waste of money and time. Equipment is no good either. Stay away.
I've been a member here since 09 , and I must say by far, the Cleanest most Upsclae gym in all of Queens for I've been to them all. The decor is magazine...the vibe is cool...the gym is immaculate...The spin room is absolutely amazing!...
They have 30 spin bikes, and the room is painted like your in space with cool blue lights all around, and the spin instructors especialy Cat are all great!...So many different floors and rooms, each with its own personality and vibe...Great concept!...No matter how bad your day is, when you enter this place its all good!...After all, what gym have you been to lately that greets you with a beatiful wall fountain and a friendly staff...This gym is a must see if your bored and tired with the same old same old!....Peace!
Stay away. The facility itself is nice, although, for starters, the owner is a complete Douche, and as I noticed, if you are a female member, be prepared to be hit on by male employees. Most of their members come to socialize and get in your way of obtaining a fulfilling workout, unnecessary chatting, hogging and occupying the machines etc. Daycare service is a circus. Rates aren't the best. Rather pay less and go for a simple, professional atmosphere. Don't recommend at all.
Nice fancy upscale gym.
This is the most upscale gym in Astoria, very similar to Equinox in design. The place is very clean, the bathrooms are well maintained, and because it's the most expensive gym in the area you get the place to yourself as long as you don't come during rush hour. The classes are hit or miss, and the instructors could be better, some constantly complain about pay. Some trainers will approach you to buy their services, don't bother unless you want to look like a circus animal in the middle of the gym floor while everyone stares you.
The things I love about this gym is that it's never very busy so you can get your equipment without a wait and usually no one will be next to you. The lockers room are spotless, & the interior looks beautiful. I think the hours are fair and they have plenty of classes to try if you ever get bored. If you are a cardio junkie they have machines I've never seen anywhere else.
What I hate about this place is the weight area has a huge emphasis on machines, 99% of which are totally useless. There is no power rack and I am too short to safely use their 2 squat racks. The stretch area was an afterthought, there really isn't one. Since I pay almost double what other gyms cost in this area I really don't think it's too much to ask for them to fix these two items. I've also had a bunch of my stuff go missing here, so be careful to always remember your items and lock them away.
best machines. i have never seen so many machines in one gym, i never wait on line, everything is always in its place. highly recommend it! Must join, tell them i sent you so i can at least get the free month!!! Jack Kammel
very happy i joined. I recently moved to astoria from the west side. I use to belong to equinox and when i got to astoria i was worried i wouldnt be able to find a gym like mine. when i toured club fitness and got the prices i was so happy! i not only found a gym that was as good as equinox it was half the price! I love pilates and when they gave me free classes i was exctatic. I actually wish i moved to astoria years ago, i am finally saving money here with rent and my lifestyle in general! i recommend this place and i have met really cool artists their too. join club fitness its really great. Try sabrina's manicures, she is so amazing and the price is so cheap!!!!
