Great fresh Sushi. I am a regular customer at Sushi House uptown. There are 2 locations in Hoboken,the one on 1st is BYOB, the one uptown location has a bar and lounge area. The Sushi rolls are always fresh, you can tell that they do NOT use frozen fish. Recently I noticed that the Fish Tanks are out of Service. I am friendly with the owner and asked if they are renovating. He advised that he has a new partner taking over the management of the restaurant starting in the New Year and they are planning to give the Restaurant a "Face Lift" in time for the outdoor seating. Fish tanks or not, the food is always great and I also noticed he has a friendly new staff. I would defiantly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Sushi. Long Live the fish!!!

Not home at Sushi House. Aside from the instant forgettability of the mediocre food...this restaurant provided an all-around disappointing experience. The wait staff was uninformed, curt, and couldn't care less about our table. The place was also distractingly dim and decorated in a bordelo meets dive bar style. Aside from the unpleasant design, try and have a zen, Japanese experience amid the 5 HDTVs showing ESPN in tandem with the truly horrific "lite" 70s music blaring from every speaker. We literally heard two Bee Gee's songs inside of one dinner experience.

Bring your reading glasses, as well. There are all sorts of unlabeled "incidental" charges on the menu for items such as brown rice, etc. And, I challenge anyone to read the fine print below the "Free Parking" sign out front that says you must spend $40 to obtain validation...that would be a hefty meal for a party of one.

Needless to say, I cannot recommend Sushi House. I suggest giving your business to Robongi down the block...tastier food, more appealing decor, and far more hospitable service.
