Tips for CitySights NY Tours & Sightseeing

Biggest waste of money in NYC!. It's astounding how gullible tourists can be...and how much money they are willing to waste! To get scammed by (at best) sketchy hustlers to part with a great deal of cash, just to ride around Manhattan in a dirty open-air FUEL GUZZLING (read: MOST environmentally unfriendly) bus, driven by operators who violate traffic laws and create traffic havoc block by block, is not my idea of the best way to see New York. Apart from walking, which is the healthiest, cheapest and most interactive way to experience the city, visitors and residents alike can get the exact same tours for the $2 price of a MetroCard on the local city buses. The routes and destinations are exactly the same as the over-priced CitySights Tour buses, as roomy and comfortable (more or less), and most buses arrive every 10 to 30 minutes...and you can take all the pictures you want and hop on or hop off anywhere along the line that peaks your curiosity. Not sure of your bearings? Ask the driver (most are far more friendly than the tour bus operators). Not sure of a sight? Ask another passenger; contrary to popular belief, New Yorkers are more than willing to offer help, advice or recommendations. Never ever fails. For example, take the M6 local bus from 57th Street & 7th Avenue; travels right through the heart of Times Square, all the way down Broadway (past Herald, Madison, Union, Washington Square Parks) all the way to the tip of Lower Manhattan. Cost: $2 (MetroCard obtained at any subway station in the city; and exact change accepted as well on all buses!).

Two thumbs down to the CitySights (and shame on them)! If you can't walk the city, see the city the way the locals do...and save that money for a boat ride around the island or lunch at any number of fantastic eateries along the way. Or maybe a really good pair of walking shoes! Hope this helps.

Great Tour!. I had great experiences on both the uptown and downtown tours. Well worth the money and then some. knowledgeable tour guide and great scenes. Next time I come back i'll be taking the Brooklyn tour but not before walking the Brooklyn bridge!

Great customer service. I really appreciate the tour taken by city sights bus , i booked a red bus and visited all manhattan . We depart from 7th avenue nearest Times square ,turn on left on Penn station ,visited the downtown but couldn't get a good view of the bridge (the big one) i think is brooklyn bridge , also make a quick stop near "ground zero" but couldn't see a much.

In fact it was a great experience , passed behind United nations and also behind Donald trump tower ;Waldorf astoria then i got off at Rockefeller . IT WAS AMAZING !!! i made some videos which i use to show my family and my people right here in Africa.

Best Travel Tour, Sightseeing in New York city. I came to New York city on a quick vacation. I wanted to do a sightseeing tour. I came across Citysights tour company and booked one of their buses. We toured the entire city. The travel tour too through all parts of the city, we were able to see all kinds of sights. We are sightseeing enthusiast so we had a blast. I could not have had a better sightseeing tour on a bus. I wold recommend this company to everyone who wants a great travel tour in New York City, what a great sightseeing experience.

The best way to explore New York City. My wife and I visited New York City in May 2007. Prior to our departure, we searched for attractions and sights we must check while in NY and we came across CitySights NY?s website. We purchased two Super New York tickets online and saved $10 (they give you $5 discount per ticket if you purchase online).

In New York, we went to their visitor center on 42nd street to exchange the vouchers we?ve got online with real tickets and collect the tickets to the Empire State Building and Circle Line Cruise, both of which are included in the Super NY tour.

The Double Decker tours (Uptown, Downtown, Brooklyn, and Night) were awesome. We hopped on and off the bus in almost every stop and loved every minute of it. The busses were fairly new and very comfortable (although a little bit bumpy at time which is part of driving on NYC streets I guess). The tour guides were very knowledgeable and some even funny (if you get on the bus with Mike you?re sure to have a laugh or two every minute or so).

The views from the top of the Empire State Building were breathtaking and the cruise around Downtown Manhattan was fun.

We had the time of our life, learn everything there is to learn about the city, and even saved $10. Thank you CitySights NY. You are the best.
