Tips for Nan Yi Chun Acupuncture NYC

A great experience. I started seeing Nan Yi about three months ago due to bleeding between periods, fibroids and stress. Nan Yi is very caring, skilled and highly efficient. She listens to your concerns and does her best to help you heal. I have felt calmer and more centered since I started treatment. My periods used to last up to 2 weeks (sometimes longer), but I have seen tremendous improvement over my last few cycles. My last period ended after 6 days - this is normal for me. I am very grateful to Nan Yi for all her help.

Nan Yi Chan is truly an amazing acupuncturist, very professional and truly cares about her patience's health!

1 month ago I injured myself and could barely walk let alone run. I tried everything from deep tissue massage to stretching, Yoga and rest - but nothing worked. Being a highly active person this was really impacting my lifestyle. I contacted Nan in desperation, explained my situation and she very kindly squeezed me into her already full schedule that day.

3 treatments later and the injury is a distant memory - I can run again! Thank you Nan, you have made such a difference in my life and am truly grateful.

I came to Nan Yi with a multitude of issues, hoping to seek some sort of cure all. Within days both my sprained knee and my digestive system were back on track! My knee, which I injured 6 months prior, feels like new after only a few sessions. My digestive system is regulated and I feel much lighter and happier. I can't recommend her enough!

anxiety, stress, insomnia. Every January I do something different, something sort of out of the box that isn't totally thought out and planned so I decided this year to find an acupuncturist out of the ether to treat insomnia, anxiety and stress issues which have been plaguing me on and off for the past 5 years. I've used acupuncture before for various issues and believe it works sometimes and maybe not others, depends upon the condition and the practitioner along with many other factors. I poked around on the internet and found Nan Yi's reviews on City Search which were very positive so I cast any doubts to the wind and made an appointment. To cut to the chase: I started with two sessions a week for approx. 6 weeks and then moved to one session a week after that and am now seeing her once every two weeks. My anxiety issues have been cut by more than half, way better results than drugs, meditation, therapy etc. Sleep goes up and down but has very definitely improved to the point where I can count on at least 6 hours of straight sleep a night, a vast improvement, but overall I feel more in control of my emotions and life in general. Nan Yi said at a certain age (that would be 50 folks) our energy meridians can get so out of whack that they kind of short circuit on us and they need a tune up, realignment and/or house cleaning. I honestly believe that's what Nan Yi has accomplished with me. I'm not perfect, who is, but I am so much more in control of my emotions, manage my sleep issues better and have out of the blue acquired stronger and calmer leadership qualities along the way. Things connected to my work that a few months ago would have sent me into a tailspin are now manageable and not in any way overwhelming. I'm more in control without being freaked out about needing to be IN CONTROL. Does that make sense? Simply put: my nervous system is in a much better place and I chalk it up to Nan Yi's work. Thanks Nan Yi! John Walker

Fibroid Shrinkage and Menstrual Relief. My periods have always been difficult: painful, heavy, erratic, long (8-10 days of bleeding), frequent (14-17 days apart) and unpredictable. In 2007, I had surgery to remove 6 fibroids (myomectomy). One was left in place because it was too close to an ovary. About a year ago, I could feel the fibroids growing again and searched for an alternative to surgery since I was told that I may have to have a hysterectomy if they returned. I did not want to go through menopause earlier than necessary. I read somewhere that acupuncture could shrink fibroids, reduce blood-flow and ease other menstrual symptoms. I started treatment with Nan Yi Chun nine months ago in April of 2011. She banished my cramps on the very first visit (I was on my period that day). After 3 treatments, there was a noticeable shrinkage in the size of my fibroids. Improvement in other respects came more gradually: clumps in my flow got smaller and now are completely gone, my bleeding is not as heavy (it's a manageable flow, not a torrential flood), cramps are less painful and shorter in duration and headaches, nausea and mood swings are now less intense. My last period was the easiest I can remember EVER and it only lasted 7 days, a record for me! Nan Yi also helped me to be aware of a connection between stress and the severity of my periods. She also treated a 14-year-old injury in my low back that occassionally flared up. After two treatments, there was an ease of tension and tightness in an area so deep no massage therapist has ever been able to reach it. Since then, I can stretch the area out on my own in yoga and keep it from getting too tight, and it no longer gives me debilitating pain. I highly recommend acupuncture and especially the treatment of Nan Yi Chun for fibroids and menstrual problems as well as sport injuries. I am so grateful for the improvements she has helped me achieve in my physical health and also in my mental attitude.

Chronic Plantar Fasciitis. I've never written a review for Citysearch or any other site like this, but I must tell as many people as possible about the amazing help that Nan has given me.

I suffered from plantar fasciitis for over one, long, agonizing year. I'm a very active person and work requires me to be on my feet for long hours each day. Plantar fasciitis had taken away my ability to run, dance with my girlfriend and even make it through a day of work without suffering in pain. After rest, icing, taping, orthotics, night splints, cortisone injections, physical therapy and Graston technique fell short of healing me, I went to Nan for acupuncture. I wish it had been my first mode of treatment.

I saw immediate partial relief just from the first visit and after slightly over one month of treatment, I went for my first run in over a year! I no longer suffer from plantar fasciitis, I'm not in pain while I'm at work and I have been able to return to the active lifestyle that I used to have prior to plantar fasciitis.

Nan is a very warm, genuine person who provides excellent care through acupuncture. Her office and treatment rooms are clean and create a relaxing environment for healing. During my first visit, she took time to listen to me and thoroughly explained her plan and realistic expectations for pain relief. She has been so excited to see my progress.

I cannot thank Nan enough for helping me return to a normal, active life!

CHANGED MY LIFE. Firstly, I would like to say that I rarely yelp ?, and that I have never done so for a medical/health service, but my experience with Nan Yi has been so remarkable, I feel obligated to share with anyone who is considering acupuncture.

I have been seeing Nan Yi for a few months now wanting to address very specific concerns. I feel the need to be frank because women often suffer with painful cramps, irregularity, and a slew of other issues with their cycle that are often corrected by taking hormones. For me, as a migraine sufferer, taking hormones was not an option.

I can say that after a couple of months treatment, I feel 100% better and my cycle is perfectly normal, something it has never been in my entire life. Not only can I point to physical results, but I feel more centered and have not suffered a migraine in over 5 months

A wonderful experience. This is the first review I have ever written and after the wonderful experience I have had with Nan Yi, I am excited to tell others about her practice. Nan Yi is professional, kind and an expert in the field of acupuncture. I first decided to go to Nan Yi because I was experiencing increasingly frequent migraines (about 3-4 a week) and did not know what to do. For a few years I took medicine every time I experienced a migraine, but taking these pills multiple times a week started to feel very unhealthy. Through this site, I came across the five star reviews for Nan Yi and decided to make an appointment. After the first session with Nan Yi, which was also my first experience with acupuncture, I already started to feel positive changes in my health. To my surprise, the migraines quickly stopped and in the instances when I did get the initial sensation of a headache, the feeling quickly dissipated and did not turn into a migraine. I've been going to Nan Yi for a few months now and I have not experienced another migraine since starting acupuncture with her.

I am so grateful to Nan Yi for her help and expertise. My quality of life has drastically improved and I no longer have to worry about a migraine ruining my day! I look forward to my acupuncture sessions with Nan Yi and I always walk away from her office feeling more relaxed, rejuvenated, and balanced.

If you are experiencing similar headache symptoms (or any other persistent health-related issues), I highly suggest you meet with Nan Yi!

Incredible experience. I had suffered with chronic UTI's and bladder infections, for which doctors had no idea how to cure without Antibiotics or invasive procedures. I opted to try acupuncture to remedy this and was thrilled with the results. Nan Yi Chun is professional, warm and friendly and truly invested in helping her patients recover. Her work is diligent and professional, and I looked forward to the treatments every week.

It was not an instant recovery but Nan Yi worked with me for 2 months and I am happy to say, I have been symptom free - which is remarkable.
