The line snaking out the door makes it clear that the crowd is fully aware of the restaurant's celebrity owner, Justin Timberlake. The interior is a carefully constructed faux roadhouse featurig pictures of Elvis, lit-up beer ads and sports-tuned flat-screen TVs. Loud chatter from casually dressed families and tourists make for an atmosphere that feels remarkably unpretentious for a celeb-owned eatery. Words of advice for potential diners: Barbecue sauce is your friend. Besides the fried pickles (a sweet crunchy treat covered in crispy batter) and southern fried chicken (a fairly juicy but salty affair), most everything benefits from a good slathering of the sweet, tangy sauce. For dessert, the sweet potato pie is worth a try--if just for the kick of the Jack Daniels inside.

Southern Hospitality is the best! The food is delicious, and I absolutely love their spareribs and mac'n'cheese. My roommate had never had BBQ before we went here for my last birthday, and now she's hooked. The servers are great, and my friends and I have a lot of fun there. They have live music several times a week, which always brings a fun crowd. Check out their page on Twitter for specials, like free fried pickles or drinks for telling the bartender certain phrases. Definitely a spot to check out while you're in NYC.

I booked the private room for 20 people to watch a Giants game.It is a great space to watch a game,4 screens,a dedicated server and pretty good eats.I will definitely book it again next NFL season. The pulled pork sliders, ribs and the burgers were very good.

Last week I went to Southern Hospitality for the first time, and I will definitely be going back! My friends and I came for dinner (awesome wings), and ended up staying at the bar after. The staff was friendly, and even though the place was busy, our waitress was very attentive. If you are looking for a good time and great bbq, make sure you check it out.

The Details on Southern Hospitality

The Extras:

Not get enough of the barbecue sauce? You can buy bottles of it, as well as T-shirts and hats, to take home with you.

Know Before You Go:

The restaurant only smokes enough meat for one day, so it occasionally runs out of certain menu items.

What to Drink:

Nothing goes with barbecue quite like beer--diners can choose from eight brews on tap, ranging from Bud Light to Stella Artois.

Fun Fact:

Southern Hospitality's executive chef, Ray Lampe (aka Dr. BBQ), is a champion in the worldwide BBQ competition circuit.
