Editorial Review for Southern Hospitality – by Keith Wagstaff
The Scene
The line snaking out the door makes it clear that the crowd is fully aware of the restaurant's celebrity owner, Justin Timberlake. The interior is a carefully constructed faux roadhouse: Pictures of Elvis, who like Timberlake lived in Memphis, share space with lit-up beer ads and sports-tuned flat-screen TVs. Loud chatter from casually dressed families and tourists make for an atmosphere that feels remarkably unpretentious for a celeb-owned eatery.
The Food
Words of advice for potential diners: Barbecue sauce is your friend. Besides the fried pickles (a sweet crunchy treat covered in crispy batter) and southern fried chicken (a fairly juicy but salty affair), most everything needs a good slathering of the sweet, tangy barbecue sauce to mask the absence of flavor. The lean pork spareribs have a nice char but are ultimately bland, while the beef brisket's only virtue is its mammoth serving size. For dessert, the nutty pecan pie beats out the viscous, cloyingly sweet peach cobbler.
Hits: Men and women both have something to keep them occupied--men can swill beer and watch football, while women can bask in J.T.'s aura.
Misses: Barbecue this bland is never justified.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoThe restaurant only smokes enough meat for one day, so it occasionally runs out of certain menu items.
What to DrinkNothing goes with barbecue quite like beer--diners can choose from eight brews on tap, ranging from Bud Light to Stella Artois.
The ExtrasNot get enough of the barbecue sauce? You can buy bottles of it, as well as T-shirts and hats, to take home with you.

My girls and I went to Southern Hospitality this weekend because we HAD to check out Justin Timberlake's restaurant! And, we had a realllly great time!!! The food was awesome- especially the fried pickles and Ribs, the drinks were tasty ( although you can't go wrong with BBQ sauce, baseball, and beer!!), and the bartenders were really friendly. As a bartender myself- I was really impressed! Although, we didn't catch a glimpse of JT, we will definitely be back for round 2 at Southern Hospitality!! I say you should definitely check out Southern Hospitality for a fun night out with your friends! Two thumbs up!
Pros: Food, Service, Drinks, Atmosphere :)

I went this weekend to Southern Hospitality because I heard good things and I wanted to check it out. I was very happy with the food, the service, and the atmosphere. It is an awesome place. If you like good BBQ, good beer and drinks and a good time, I would check this place out. It is hip and cool without being cheesy. Two thumbs up!
