“the food was great, the service was friendly and it's a great place to hang with friends for a fun evening!”
“Since the cornbread was a disappointing "tasty treat"- we feared dessert.”
“It's a very layed-back atmosphere with a mixed crowd (actually was pretty crowded at 6:30 on a weds), a pretty good after-work bar that keeps filling up till they pump up the music, and A LOT OF FOOD.”
“Great Fun Place with GREAT food and service.”
“The claims on the menu that the food is slow smoked is highly questionable given how dry the wings were that my friends and I ordered as an app.”
“DO NOT come here if you are expecting it to be a nice place.”
“went there last night for the UFC 91 fight, it was an event night so we all knew that we were gonna have to wait and it would be crowded, all of the staff was very nice the open bar was great once we got to our table everything was uphill from there, ou”
“The hostess was SO rude and took about 5 minutes to look up to even acknowlege I was there.”
“The drinks were very good and well worth their price.”
“The service was nice and quick.”
Like my mama's southern cookin!.
This place is great! I have eaten here many times and have always been pleased with the service as well as the food. Love the ribs and the fired pickels... i also love the jalapeno peppers. the waitresses are all beautiful and friendly, and i even ran into daryl strawberry!
i always go here for sporting events and just to grab a drink after work .,. you cant go wrong
Unacceptable!. This was the worst BBQ I have ever eaten! We ordered the King’s Combo – the fried chicken was dry, the ribs were burnt black charcoal, the brisket had some flavor but was 98% greasy fat so the 2% of greasy meat was unacceptable. The waitress replaced the ribs with another set that was not brunt but complete fat. The waitress apologized and said she was glad that we were nice to her because the guy before us treated her as though she had cooked his bad burger. The manager was apologetic and took the meal off of our bill. He then asked us if we wanted some dessert. At that point we were so sick from all of the grease and fat (or what they call BBQ) that we declined. Any good reviews about this restaurant must have something to do with Justin Timberlake. He clearly needs to stick to singing and stay out of the food industry.
Mmmm beverage tastings.
I recently attended a Bourbon tasting at Southern Hospitality. Our host, Chris was lively, fun, informative and quite responsive.
We were treated to a mini education about how this spirit, that is basically a whisky, came to be known as bourbon (it has to do with distribution, but I won't spoil that story). Our group got to sample generous pours of a number of different varieties of bourbon. Accompanied by a few sample plates of the S.H. food. I had no idea pickles were something that could be fried. Although I would venture a guess nearly anything could be deep fried. The ribs were quite well received. The golden brown crawfish hush puppies were also a crowd favorite.
Great spot for parties and gatherings.
They seem to maintain a full events calendar. A few of the other participants were regulars at S.H. and made mention
Hospitality? Not so sure.
I went to this restaurant with high hopes.
I don't like Justin Timberlake but I was hoping I'd like his restaurant at least. Plus any restaurant that has Fried Pickles has a fan in me.
My friend and I went on Tuesday night - it wasn't busy at this time. In terms of food - good! LOVED the Fried Pickles and LOVED the Chicken and Waffles. We were in a little bit of a rush but the food came out very fast so that was great.
The waitress we had was nice but so slow. I work in a restaurant so I know how it is, but it wasn't even busy. We were hiding in the back somewhere so it is possible that maybe she just kept forgetting we were even there but it took forever to leave just because she kept forgetting about us.
I might go back again. It wasn't a horrible experience or anything. It was just sorta good.
Some of the Best Chicken, EVER!. Southern Hospitality is one my favorite restaurants in New York. I heard a lot of hype about the place, both good and bad, and decided to try it for myself. I was seated fast and the food came within minutes of ordering. Don't let the prices on the menu fool you- you get enough bang for your buck. Their original chicken is the best! There is never usually a long line or wait for food. I have found that the best time to go is between noon and four during the weekdays since there usually is not a lot of people there. Overall, one of my favorite restaurants in New York.
Some of the best fried chicken in NYC. Come hungry and go for the King's Combo - some of the best fried chicken you'll find anywhere, especially in Manhattan.
My favorite place.
Southern Hospitality is the best! The food is delicious, and I absolutely love their spareribs and mac'n'cheese. My roommate had never had BBQ before we went here for my last birthday, and now she's hooked. The servers are great, and my friends and I have a lot of fun there. They have live music several times a week, which always brings a fun crowd. Check out their page on Twitter for specials, like free fried pickles or drinks for telling the bartender certain phrases.
Definitely a spot to check out while you're in NYC.
Great place. I booked the private room for 20 people to watch a Giants game.It is a great space to watch a game,4 screens,a dedicated server and pretty good eats.I will definitely book it again next NFL season. The pulled pork sliders, ribs and the burgers were very good.
I Will Definitely Be Coming Back!!. Last week I went to Southern Hospitality for the first time, and I will definitely be going back! My friends and I came for dinner (awesome wings), and ended up staying at the bar after. The staff was friendly, and even though the place was busy, our waitress was very attentive. If you are looking for a good time and great bbq, make sure you check it out.
