In Short:
With its wooden chairs, picnic tables, and a glass garage door that opens to the street, this East 7th Street beer and wine bar almost evokes a suburban backyard, though it substitutes sidewalk for grass. Its ambitious Eastern European-influenced drink menu includes unpronounceable draughts and bottles from breweries in Poland (Zywiec) and Czech (Krusuvice), and intriguing Eastern European vintages, many from Georgia. It's turnabout as fair play when the East Village's young beer and wine connoisseurs get thrown for an old-school imbibing loop.
Hits: For the uninitiated, tasting flights of three wines or beers are available--for free.
Misses: On a quiet night, you may feel as if you've happened upon a private club to which you were not invited.

Friends of mine recommended this bar to me after they had a party there. So I went there on thursday night with my coworkers after work. The moment we walked in, we were stunned by their decour(lookes exactly like bars in europe). we sat in a old picnic table, where a beautiful Polish waitress served us. We ordered some amazing Beers (Golden Pheasant- slovakian pilsner)that u wont find nowhere else. Later that night we asked our waitress to get us some polish food (polish sausage, Polish Lard(smalec...was delicious),their homefries and these amazing but weird sounding spicey worms(not really worms but small thin sausages). It was best Bar food and beer we had in EV.

I went with a group of my girlfriends last Friday night and we had such a great time that I thought I should others know about. It was 4 of us and we went through 3 bottles of wine and had some delicious food. The chef, a really charming man even came over to make sure we were happy. The place had a really nice crowd, and the service was friendly. We will definitely be going back, maybe tomorrow. ;-)

I imagine the former Soviet -bloc countries enjoy a reception as frosty as the beer they pour. But this place actually laughs in your face and insults you for bothering them with your petty concerns=a drink. If the wine, beer, or anything else were good, this surly treatment might be amusing but the place just isn't worth it. I can't wait for whatever new place will open when this place closes.

Homemade perogies and Polish sausage are the favored accompaniments to that frothy mug of beer, and a full menu is also available. Each dish is made from scratch, so be prepared to wait up to 35 minutes for your dinner.
