“clean, welcoming, friendly and helpful waitress, service was quick, cheese curds are good, but could be served a bit hotter, salad was crisp, sandwiches tasty, good price for the village”
Outside seating? Check. A decent happy hour? Check. Place to find grad students "brainstorming" over pints? Check.
Great bar. I thought I wasn't a beer person, but after a visit to the Half Pint, I changed my mind. Their selection is amazing, 25 drafts, and like a million bottles, I found a few that I really liked (they have a hefe weisse on draft, which is just great for the summer, and all those fruity girly beers for all you ladies). And on top of that, super-friendly servers, good food - the burgers and the sandwiches are delicious, and the tuna salad is the best!
GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD BAR. This is the best addition to the village in years. Great Beers, great burgers and Tory is so great we just love it. We go at weekends and during the week, Tory is always there and the service is always great. The beers are great, cask beer is always changing and the crowd is great after my night class @NYU.
Half comfortable neighborhood nosh spot, half beer enthusiasts' Shangri-La..
In Short
NYU professors swap war stories over pints at the bright window-side tables, while frat brothers do keg research at the homey wood bar. More than a hundred bottled beer options from all over the world fill refrigerated cabinets to bursting, tempting the adventurous with names like Ruddles, Orkney Skullsplitter and Doggy Style Pale Ale. Draught fans stare wondrously at the colorful row of more than 20 tap heads, but the real hops aficionados go straight for the cask ales.
Hits: A head-spinning selection of world-class beers, friendly bartenders and TVs that don't dominate the room.
Misses: An after-work bar crowd that can get a little heavy on the drunken shout-speaking.
Favorite New Bar!!!. This place is great!!!!! If you enjoy beer in the slightest, this is the place for you. They will let you try anything on tap before you commit to a full pint (or half pint for that matter). They also have many, many bottles from around the globe. I love trying out new beers I've never heard of here (and I've heard of alot). The food is good, especially the sandwiches, and the staff is super-friendly. This is a great place to sit and chill out with your friends, and possibly chat up a few attractive, quality beer-loving folks. The open windows are quite nice as well. This is definitely my new favorite hangout!
Great Beer! Horrible Food!. This place has great beer. I highly recommend getting a table top (6 pints). The beer prices are reasonable considering the quality. However, I could have got better food at a gas station. The appetizers were very bland. Hopefully next time if I go back they will up the food quality because it is a cool place with good atomshpere.
