Got Chased out by waiter!!!!!

I will never go back to Sangria 46. Tapas was average - nothing special. But my friends and i were have a great time but during the meal we kept on seeing the waiters arms reach across to try and clear out places - extremely rude when you are trying to have a conversation and then see an arm pop up right in front of your face - several times this happened. They were trying to rush us out - even trying to take our plates away when we werent even finished. They automatically put a 20% tip on the bill which irritated me. then the worst when our waiter asked us to kindly leave because he needed the table. I was so shocked.
I had to go up to him and tell him how very rude that was and he kept on saying he was sorry but honestly restaurants dont need to chase customers away in this economy. Then he ran to catch me and say that the Sangria was on the house - i refused saying that what he said was rude and offensive and that we would never go back again. Needless to say there are better places in Manhattan to get Tapas and this is the first time ever i was told to leave because they wanted to set other customers - so my advice if you want a nice dinner and conversation dont go there
- Pros: the sangria was good
- Cons: worst service ever
Awesome Time

A group of about 15 of us went there to start off a bachelorette party night and the staff was GREAT! They seated us right away even though the place was packed. We had a pre-fixed menu and all we can drink Sangria! They had our drinks topped off practically after every sip and brought out our apps and food in a very timely manner. It felt like we had about 10 waiters for our table and they interacted and were very festive. They brought out these great shots on the house and got the whole restaurant involved when they brought out the cake. Food was great too. I will DEFINITELY go back !!!!!
- Pros: Great for a group
- Cons: none
OK, but unmemorable

Food is good but very basic and exceptionally unexciting. Definitely Americanized (read: dumbed down and UNspicy and unflavorful -- that is, boring). Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood, perhaps. But definitely not worth the trip uptown. Don't misunderstand. There's absolutely nothing bad here. There's also nothing particularly great.

In Spain, tapas are a way of eating. Traditionally, a sociable experience where good wine, refreshing sangria and a variety of small dishes are shared amongst friends and family. Since tapas have no rigid cuisine rules you can build a whole meal around a series of small dishes or simply enjoy as an appetizer.
