The Scene – The light, clean setting psychologically softens the blow of the deep-fried feast to come. White subway-tiled walls, a brushed stainless steel bar, white marble tabletops and a long, sleek brown banquette along one wall emphasize the neat aesthetic. Chalkboards not only highlight daily specials, they also line the bathroom walls, encouraging amusing graffiti. – – The Food – Tempura is the focus at this restaurant helmed by Josh DeChellis (Sumile, Jovia). A grate at the bottom of serving boxes ensures that residue doesn't cling, allowing the light battering…

The tempura was really good but the sashimi was amazing. Very enjoyable and interesting meal. You will not be disappointed.

Great tempura - but lots of other delicious options as well...

by skaukatt

This is a great restaurant. The best shrimp tempura I've had, but also some other dishes that weren't fried. Lots of interesting raw fish dishes. The service was friendly and competent. My parents went twice and asked the chef to make them a tasting menu, and he did and they were delighted. I just don't understand why this place isn't more popular. Please go so that it stays open!

Great Experience

by jrpny

This was a truly relaxed unique experience. The tempura was the best I ever had and the non-tempura dishes were spectacular (BarFry Burger was awesome). No place in the West Village like it.
