The Scene – The only thing subdued about this corner cantina is the wood-darkened, dimly lit bar. In the festively decorated dining room, the noise level can be as cacophonous as a craps table full of lucky winners, especially if diners are seated at the long, tough-to-maneuver-around communal table. The friendly wait staff carries the crowd--girls-nights-out groups and dates from other parts of the city--through minor service glitches, whether they're eating inside or at the sidewalk tables. – – The Food – Chef Sue Torres of Suenos partners with notable nightlife duo…
Really Los Dados
by DreCSA
The bartender was rude, offered everyone at the bar chips n salsa but passed us over on 3 separate occasions. When we requested chips and salsa she still did not bring it. We had to ask her again and guess what…. received only chips. We had to ask her again for the salsa, then wait 10 minutes for it. It would be amusing if it wasn’t so sad.
When seated for dinner I ordered the Pablano Shrimp Risotto, which was served undercooked (undercooked as in it was CRUNCHY). When I asked for it to be cooked a little longer, (zap it in the microwave if that's what it will take) I was told, "This is how we cook it".
I have never heard of a restaurant telling patron who feels their meal is undercooked, “Too bad, this is how we make it,” definitely a first for me.
Overall it was a waste of time, money and chewing. I would have been better off stopping at a hot dog vendor. At least that would have been cooked food.
This place is one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in New York and I was born and raised here.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Everything but leaving.
Overpriced and Overtrendy
by Bossy
This place has everything going for it except the $20 mediocre entrees, and $14 6 ounce margaritas. The lighting is also so dark one can not read the menu. There are many better picks in this neighborhood, so dont get taken!!!!
- Pros: Good Drinks, Great Vibe
- Cons: Overpriced, Poor Service, Bad Food
I DON'T THINK SO!
by ELIST
All - This place clearly lives off location. There are 1,000,000 better restaurants to try in this great city then LOS DADOS. 1 I made a birthday reservation weeks in advance, my table preference was not honored. They know their 20% is coming for parties of 6 and higher and don't feel the need to live up to that. Food was awful not worth the price. The ambiance isn't all bad - but really do your self a favor and avoid.
- Pros: Decent Space / Ambiance. My company....
- Cons: How much time do you have?
