What People Are Saying About Spitzer's Corner
Featured Review

Perhaps you've never heard of Rogue Dead Guy Ale, but the proprietors of Spitzer's Corner have, and with an astounding selection of draft beers--plus additional choices by the bottle--even the biggest brewsky snobs will be pleasantly surprised. (And for non beer-drinkers, there's also a full bar.) French windows give way to a dark wood interior, starkly decorated with hanging industrial-style lamps and very little else--perfect for the lively crowd of hipsters and beer dorks who occupy the long communal tables and benches, sipping Hedonism Red Ale and humming along to tunes by bands like The…
Editor's Tips
- Fun Fact:
- According to the bartender, the name "Spitzer's Corner" is not a less-than-subtle allusion to the former governor of New York, but refers to the previous tenant, a sewing establishment that occupied the space for many years.
- The Extras:
- You'll never have to wait in line or contend with unreasonable or uncomfortable crowds, thanks in part to a back area that offers additional space when the main room fills.
- Food Served:
- Foodies will approve of the carefully wielded menu, which features $4 bar snacks such as pork fat popcorn, a complete raw bar, and small and large plates like the hickory burger, PBLT (crispy pork belly, lettuce and pickled tomato on brioche) and beer-battered oysters.

Great place for beer and a bite
by FryeGurl
So many beers on tap, this place won't let any of you beer connoisseurs down. The nice thing is the food and the atmosphere are good too. Warning, the space is totally open so it gets loud in here, especially on weekends.
Beer lover's heaven and great for big groups
by MeggzinLA
I love this place! They have so many beers on tap, it would take you a few DAYS to get through beer tastings. I used to live up the block, so stopping by Spitzer's was a weekly to-do. They have a great lunch menu and great location for people watching. I've attended and hosted many birthday/celebration get together's at Spitzer's and always recommend it to my friends.
The only set back I would have is that the dinner menu isn't that impressive. If I could suggest this bar, I would recommend Friday and Saturday night bar-hopping, or grabbing brunch on the weekend. Otherwise, love this place!
A true NY Bar
by JasonS82
So when you come along this neighborhood you will notice a lot of character everywhere. From the Yuppies and Hipsters that live here and interact trying to be cool. To the graffiti on the walls. And the local bars and restaurants that make LES what it is.
This is a TRUE NY bar, where they have bench seats, open patio to where you can sit and socialize, and a small area. Love the area, and love this spot
Worst Waitresses and "Manager" Ever
by NJS22
Met a group of friends at this place last night. Just after walking in this short brown haired waitress spills an entire beer down the front of my girlfriend's dress while rushing by her. What's worse? The waitress yells at my girlfriend and says it her fault! While this incredibly rude person be raids my girlfriend with a finger in her face, I comment on how ridiculous the whole situation is and 2 minutes later the manager is asking me to leave. The manager obviously had no idea what had just happened and as my group of friends are trying to reason with him, the same waitress spills another beer at the bar! The manager has no interest in our side of the story and our entire group has to leave. Worst bar experience I've had in six years while living in NYC! Never going to any bar or restaurant associated with this group ever again.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Read headline plus young obnoxious NYU crowd
Awesome

Always have a great time here. Great space with long wooden tables, and big open windows. Great beer on tap, good wine list, and good food.
- Pros: loads on awesome beer on tap
