In Short – T-Bar situates itself as a less-macho, more-stylized player in the steakhouse game. Though some of the interior details could come from the West Elm school of interiors, other artistic touches, like the sweetly muted dandelion mural on the back wall, make for a handsome room. The crowd reflects the neighborhood: older couples, young professionals on third dates, and groups of businessmen unwinding with Scotch. As for the steak, although the namesake T-bone comes with a beautiful crust, the mealy texture and wan flavor of the beef may disappoint. A surer bet is the 2-inch-thick…
Editor's Tips
- Save Money:
- The best desserts--strawberry or chocolate sundaes and a caramelized banana parfait--are obscenely huge and could easily satisfy a table of four.
- What to Drink:
- As with any good steakhouse, a martini is always a sure bet. The Sake-Tini ($13) lightens things up as a digestif. A warm, full "Est 75" glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, from Amber Knolls ($12), is an excellent accompaniment to the rich foods.
- Where to Sit:
- Mostly bare surfaces and glass, the main room can be loud; for a quieter, more subdued dining experience, request a table on the mezzanine level, where the carpeting and tablecloths make for a more sophisticated, adult retreat.
- Lunch Spot:
- A $25 prix fixe Lunch Box is a great bargain--start with a salad or soup, move on to salmon, pasta or a beef or turkey burger, plus a choice of side and dessert.
- Know Before You Go:
- Patrons can order off the lounge menu (burgers, appetizers, salads) until 12am.

Worst service ever- stay away

I made my reservations on opentable. I called the restaurant and was told they would put a candle in the dessert for my friend’s bday. The waitress asks us what we want literally 2 seconds after we sit down. We had to shoo her away at least 3 times. She kept rushing us like she couldn't wait for us to hurry up and order so we could leave. The waitress was an african american, skinny young woman about 5'3 or so. I don't know here name and honestly i'm not sure she told us her name. She got an attitude with me when I requested to switch appetizers. Food came out too fast, like it was rushed. The table next to us were not rushed, but they were regulars from the same waitresses’ welcome back comment. After ordering dessert the waitress came back to the table and asked "whose plate gets the candle?" I just looked at her like she was an evil dumb bleep. Obviously it was a surprise. She knew she messed up because she goes sorry I asked the hostess but she didn't know. My friend was like what? I said to the stupid waitress um it was for her. A good waitress would ask who is the person that made the reservation and by process of elimination figure it out. Then I got the wrong dessert. She said sorry I thought you said banana. I didn’t say that as I was talking about how the mousse had rum and sounded good. We were going to stiff her on the tip but I know the tip is shared with the bellboy, bus boy. I'm not going to stiff them because this waitress was incompetent and rude. My friend complained to the hostess before leaving and her response was "sorry it's restaurant week." WHAT THE HELL DOES RESTAURANT WEEK HAVE TO DO WITH BAD SERVICE? This is the time you should be the best so you can bring in repeat customers. Another woman overheard my friend complaining and she interjected and asked what happened. This was an African American woman, older, about 5'5 or so in a denim shirt. My friend informed her how we felt rushed and the service was bad. This woman apologized said she wished she had known earlier but would talk to the waitress. My friend said I didn't stiff her on the tip although I was going to only because I know other people get paid out of that. So bottom line I won't be going back if you feel the need to be rude when I am paying with my hard earned money and the food isn't even that great. Mediocre at best. Their loss because we could have brought them a lot of good business. If you like mediocre food and bad service then go to this place.
TERRIBLE

Steak burnt to a crisp!
Waiter was terrible. I think I actually bothered her for my order. Did not get the bottle of wine until my third request. I made the mistake to order extra steak sauce. Had to order it from the hostess.
The worst steak I had in my life. A dinner for 2 set me back $200. Would rather a Big Mac at this point as I can't get rid of the taste of burnt steak.
Will NEVER go back. NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
Excellent Food, Service, & Atmosphere

Took my husband to T Bar for his 31st birthday. He was looking for a good steak and I chose the place by the menu. Being a vegetarian, it's hard to find a steakhouse to eat at, and T Bar gave me options to chose from as well as my husband plenty of steak options. The food was amazing, from the bread basket, to the beet and goat cheese salad, to the vegetarian risotto. My husband had the iceberg salad that was humongous, the 8 oz filet, and baked potato trimmed out with bacon bits, sour cream and chives. He ate each last drop.
The surprise of the night came when they brought my husband a huge brownie sundae with a candle in it. The surprise was I only told them it was a birthday when I made the reservations 2 days prior! The attention to detail was great.
Oh, the bottle of wine we had, a Pinot Noir, was pure perfection!
- Pros: Great attention to detail
- Cons: loud
Good for groups

Big group like ours hard to please but the waitres had no problem with the change we made thru dinner. Desserts where out of this world. Interesting croud.

AMAZING PLACE FOR EATING

With great interior design, and fabulous furnishing, T-bar is an automatic attention grabber. In addition to it being constantly filled with a hip crowd, and having an amazing look to it, the food is the best yet. High quality meats cooked to perfection are brought out to you still sizzling from the kitchen and are the taste makes your taste buds go crazy. Even from the first cut as your knife pulls through the tender meat as if its butter you can tell this steak house is different. I highly recommend it and its the best food i have ever tasted.
- Pros: BEST MEAT AND FISH EVER!!
- Cons: NONE!
