This is the worst salon I have ever been to. I bought a deal off of Lifebooker and made an appointment here. I first spoke with the man(whom I believe is the owner) and asked for a partial highlight as I am between highlights currently and wanted only the top of my hair done for the sole purpose of roots showing. He then insulted my choice to get a partial highlight(which was already paid for) and told me he would have to charge extra for a 'touch up'. He then moved me over to a woman who told me she would need to use toner in my hair. I have never had toner applied to my hair after highlights and then she also informed me this would be an extra charge. At this point I called my colorist from back home and asked her how she does my hair. She told me she uses a 20 volume bleach and lets in sit on my hair under the dryer for 30-40 minutes to let it process. This keeps my hair looking as healthy as possible. The woman told me that she would need written consent to keep the bleach on for that long! Who knew what kind of bleach she was going to use on my hair anyways! I left the salon because I was not going to let some idiots fry my hair off. I had such a bad experience that I would give them negative stars and am going to post about my experience everywhere possible. This salon is trying to rip innocent people off and make them look like crap.

They have excellent ponytail wigs. I didn't have a hard time pulling the wig into a ponytail. It's a first for me.

It's difficult to find wigs that look as natural as you want them to be. I tried Divas products and was pleasantly surprised.

diva diva. I really liked this place. They were flexible with me when I called to push the appt back by 2 hrs, and were very kind when I walked in the door. I am definitely impressed by the quality - I love my highlights and really love that a price was not so expansive

worst haircut in years.... Had a terrible experience - they guy would not listen to anything I said and gave me a horrible boyscout haircut. With the first cuts he had already cut off so much hair on the sides that it was irreparable! Definitely the worst haircut in years, and that's even though I have gotten a lot of strange haircuts over the last few years, living in various countries in Asia where I had to make myself understood with sign language! I thought it would be easier here, but def. not at this salon... By the way just like the other user, I also signed up specifically to CItysearch just to write this review...

Owner must be writing these reviews........... This is actually the worst salon I have ever been to. I signed up to Citysearch specifically to write this review which should tell you something. I got the WORST highlights I have ever gotten in my life. No joke. It took HOURS to complete and the final product is disgusting. The front left side of my highlights are completely uneven. I have a big spot, right in front, where there are NO highlights. I have areas on the side where it looks like I havent had my hair done in a year and I got this done less than a month ago. The left side of my highlights are 3 times brighter than the right side of my highlights. My haircut is choppy and uneven. I am absolutely disgusted that this place would have 5 stars. I should have known that I was in trouble when I walked in and the place was completely empty and the only people that came in for a service were getting their hair blown out- which was literally the only good thing about this place.

brazilian treatment. I've been moved to upper east like a 3 months ago and I found Diva salon! I came for my first time to get my roots done and George who took care of me told me that I can try Brazilian keratin treatment cos my hair was very frizzy and no shine , so for my next visit I tried it and it came so good ! I never been thinking that my hair can be so healthy and no frizz !!! thank you George I'll definitely come back !!!!!!!!

The best kept secret!!. I have been going to Diva ever since I moved to the upper east side. I must write that I will not to go another salon. Hector makes me into an adonis. Yes!!! He is that good.

The piece de resistance is the beautiful young lady (Diana, I hope I spelled it right!) who washes my hair. She gives THE BEST scalp massage, to the point where by I do not want to leave to get my hair cut!! I swear, I almost asked her if she would give me a scalp massage everyday not to mention her hand in marriage. Can you imagine having scalp messages for an entire life time, I did!! All the employees are top notch and the coffee is even better. If you should find yourself in need of a cut and happen to be on the upper east side, I highly recommend Diva! 8^ )

Fab Hair on the UES!!!. Selfishly, I almost want to keep Diva a secret. I know that once it catches on, I'll never be able to book an appointment when I'd like. Every time I visit from California (where I've experimented with many high-quality salons), I come to Diva. A stylist named Sam is a wizard with his brush and I always leave with a hairstyle that I wish I understood how to create.

the best highlights in NYC. I have been going to Diva hair salon for 3 years and have been very happy with the service of Hector and George and the other hairdressers. They do a wonderful job and make my hair look wonderful> I am disappointed they continue to have this rude woman wash hair and answer phones. I used to love going there and having Hector touch up my hair color. Now my experience, one of the few I put money and time into, is ruined by this petite and blatant girl. She has no manners and indirectly insults me, a long-time customer now. I still tipped her each time and I hope to put money and time into that salon once she leaves or the managers enforce her to show some respect towards clients like me.
