Try it for something different

by madmax64

The place is a good find in Tribeca, with an interesting drink menu and a cool looking interior. The food is good, though not cheap. The only annoying thing is the DJ, starting at 8pm: it makes the place much too noisy for conversation. But you can grab a Japanese comic book from the bar and start reading instead...

Great Japanese Food and Drinks in Funky Tokyo Interior

by ijnek

I've always been a big fan of Japanese food from ramen to sushi, which already have become American food.

I liked Japanese restaurants that serve more local Japanese food in East Village but didn't quite satisfied me enough.

But when I found Tokyo Bar in Tribeca, it really got me! Starting from Japanese styled fried chicken with tasty Tokyo Mojitos, then Omu-Rice (egg covered fried rice), and Green Tea Soufflet as dessert.

THEY ARE ALL SO DELICIOUS!

Too bad only 1 person has written the review- worth checking it out before it gets too crowded!

  • Pros: Good Food, Drinks, Interior Design
  • Cons: Size is not large (approx.50 seatings?)

Awesome funky downtown atmosphere

by sohoresident

Excellent Japanese tapas and good drink selection in one of the most uniquely designed restaurants in Manhattan. The entire place seems to have been extracted whole from a Japanese anime. The staff is friendly and the service is professional and prompt.

It's a bit out of the way if you don't live in Tribeca or Soho but ti's worth the trip -- easiest way to find it is go to the Tribeca Grand and look across Church St.

  • Pros: Tasty tapas, good drink selection, friendly, prompt and professional service
  • Cons: A bit out of the way if you don't live in Tribeca or Soho but worth the trip
