Worst Experience of My life!!!!.
This was the WORST experience ever!!!! I bought a travelzoo voucher to use with a friend for a massage and mani/pedi. They were SO incredibly rude when making appointments, messed up our reservations several times, and even moved locations without mentioning that over the phone so I showed up at the wrong location.
After all this, I finally was able to schedule the first saturday appointment 3 months later. I had my massage with Mr. Lee (Min Lee). I'm not quite sure what his problem was but at the end of my massage he proceeded to tell me that I have too much "belly fat" and should really consider doing ab exercises. Mind you I am 5'0 and 110 pounds and didn't have a problem with my body until THAT comment. AND even if I were 500 pounds, what the hell? When I'm on the massage bed, that is SO rude!!
So afterwards, I got a manicure and pedicure which was ok - there was no real massage going on, it was just like a polish change. They had really few colors, really old, thick polish that took forever to dry. It was really creepy in the salon.. it looks nice on the outside, but there is no music, or TV or anything.. just dead silence and you're the only person in the salon. Seriously, I'm surprised they didn't murder me and eat me for dinner because I apparently have so much body fat.. I could feed a family of 50!!
Seriously, this place sucks. I wish I just took a loss on the travelzoo voucher because not worth it AT ALL.
awful massage experience-1 star is generous. I booked a massage for my sister and I, one month in advance. A day before the massages, I received a call that one of their massage therapists would not be in and they needed to move our appointment 1/2 hour. Fine. No big deal. Then the day of the massage they left a msg on my machine (I was out all morning) that a massage therapist had called out sick and now one of our massages had to be canceled BUT they could offer the one with the cancelled appointment a haircut instead. WHAT??? Are they kidding? I called them back and told them that they needed to get someone else in b/c my sister was in her car on her way into the city for OUR appointments. They said they couldn't accommodate and they were sorry. I said sorry wasn't good enough and that they needed to have someone come in b/c it was too short notice and inexcusable that this would happen. Somehow they found someone to come in and take the appointment. My sister and I went to the spa and I thought it to be kind of underwhelming in looks (I had been to the UWS location several times and thought it nice and clean and had had good massages in the past so I assumed the same for their new location). It felt kind of cold and impersonal and it't true.. the "relaxing video" was of alligators climbing out of mud. The masseuse who took my sister was on time but the girl, Chayan, who was supposed to take me only came out after being 15 minutes late (after I had to go tell the manager). She said that her appointment before started late. The massage wasn't that good. She didn't even massage feet (hello? nerve endings.. lots of reflexology opportunities) and shockingly (i had feeling this would happen).. she shorted my massage by 15 minutes. I immediately went up to the front desk to make the manager aware that she didn't give me the full 1 hour and it wasn't a good massage. She was frustrated for sure. My sister did not have a good experience either and said her masseuse barely spent any time on her back and much more than normal amount of time on a head massage BUT the worst part was her masseuse followed her into the locker room and said to her "you can give me my tip now"!!! How rude! We both complained and the spa gave us $10 off the services but I have called 3 times asking and then practically demanding that the owner call me so that I can tell him about our experience and he has not bothered to do so at all. He just doesn't care. They are super unprofessional there., the masseuses are rude, liars, inexperienced, incompetent and THIS is why I am writing about this experience on every site I can find. No one should waste their money or time at Jeunesse.
yikes!. Maybe the previous reviewers were talking about their old location in Columbus Circle. This Chelsea location is definitely a little grungy, but that would be ok if the personnel were friendly and honest. My husband and I had a couples massage (as a gift ), and my masseuse Mike was friendly and good, but his, Rosa, was unfriendly, seemed nervous, and had cold hands. We think because she was in cahoots with another worker there. While we were in the massage, a large amount of cash was stolen out of my husband's wallet, which was in the locker room. Lockers are flimsy, and the master key used by the incredibly busy receptionist was laying out on a counter within easy reach. This place shouldn't imply--with existence of lockers that you can "program" with your own combination--that one's valuables will be safe if they won't. Take your valuables with you into the massage room. And avoid Rosa.
Amazing Mani/Pedi!. So a friend who is a regular here brought me with her and I have not gone anywhere else since. There is a great atmosphere and the staff are fantastic! That's why I was so excited when I found a great deal on buywithme where you can get a 75 minute grooming manicure and pedicure and a glass of wine for only $25! That's not the only deal either, so go check this out. Here is the link: bit.ly/9iqVTx
Jeunesse Spa The best city Spa. Well i found this spa through my friend who is a regular there. I totally was in love with the place as soon as i stepped in . Everyone was so welcoming there, no attidute at all from the staff like you usually get at most places. I had a mani/pedi and a swedish masaage as well. LOVE IT. Worth the money you pay. The location is great and the provide you with showers , a sauna and robes and slippers. Will go back def..Good job guys
I can't wait to go back!. I'm from Miami, but last August I went to visit NY, I did an appointment in Jeunesse Spa and it was the best experience in my life... for real my life change completely. First "The Facial" by the time the guy finish the facial I was feeling like a like a million dollar baby. After that the real change... "The Keratin treatment" I use to have a really bad curly hair, but, Benicio (the specialist) recomend me the treatment and I did it after the hair cut and color. What a difference! My hair never look so healtly and beutifull, my co-workers are fascinated. I'm going back to NY this November, for sure I'm going to Jeunesse Spa...
Not Spa like at all....More like 1 st time massuers. The guy gave me a massage? talked the whole time. Didnt knwow what he was doing. Waste of money. They need real therapists in there for sure. My other two friends also did nt have good experiences either. thyre now going to jones? nI tried feline, and like it on uws....This place need new management, staff, and music, thats all. The building is fine. you just feel like oyur there with kids who have no clue whats going on , and from russia and poland, who dont speak that well, like when I said please turn down music, she didnt understand me at all, then said , ohhh well its in our lobby here not your lobby in the back, I said but it sounds like an after hours bar, and this is the spas second enterance...I dont think they cared , like my massuer.
Best NYC Spa!!!. I will never go to another spa! Jeunesse has an amazing location with a spectacular atmosphere and luxuries accommodations. I was treated like a queen here. I go to come early and enjoy there beautiful lounge with private showers and sauna. Then I went to a 90 minute massage that left me feeling renewed more than I have ever felt from a message. After the massage I went to a facial with an amazing esthetician who could answer all my questions and more. She was perfect and my skin is still glowing. I love the space, their products and how nice everyone was. If you want true NYC spa experience go here, you’ll love it!
I had made an appointment about a month ago for my mother and I to have a spa day. We could only get an 11 am reservation which was fine. We were told to arrive at 10:30. When we arrived no one was there yet so we waited. It was not until 10 till 11 someone came. When we got inside we were told that "well we can only take one of you because one of the masseuses is not coming today...is that ok? We could do one of you maybe later in the day" This of course would not work and my mother was only in town for a few days. So the gentleman just stared blanking and could honestly care less and said oh ok. This of course just made me more upset and I said well is there anything you can do for us... and I get back a sarcastic "well miss what would you like me to do?" I then asked if there was some manager to speak to and he again just stared.
I will not go back and support this spa... I will just continue to go to bliss. The fact that the gentleman acted like this was just his job and he had no idea what to do and did not care is unacceptable.
Best Massage. This is how rumors get started. I heard about a massage therapist at Jeunesse Spa on the Upper west side near my home.My neighbor told me she had gone to this woman and she could not remember ever having a better massage. so, I made an appointment to see Madeline. I was very pleased to discover that my neighbor was 100 percent accurate in her description of the beautiful spa and of the treatment I could expect from Madeline. she is a Delight. She understands the body and she has the most caring personality I have ever seen in a massage therapist. I have sent my best friend to her and she sings her praises, also. Madeline tells me that the other therapists at Jeunesse are just as good or even better but I am sticking with her!
