“This is also a great place to watch games.”
“Nice experience, def be back next year!”
“The management was extremely rude and unwilling to accommodate us.”
“The prices are reasonable and it's a nice atmosphere.”
“This place was pretty slow at 3am on a Wednesday but I was assured by the bartender to come back on a Saturday when its busy.”
Lots of TVs But Itâ??s Better to Eat Before Arriving. This place is great when it comes to watching a sports event because there’s TVs all over the place. Great prices on beer pitchers, too. The only problem with the place is that the food isn’t very good. It’s over fried and way too greasy. As long as you learn to eat before you show up to watch the game, then it’s great place to hang out.
Too Manys Mets Fan. Mets fans should stay in Queens and not come to the city to watch a ball game.
great spot for sports.
I came here with a group of 6 friends on championship sunday last weekend. If you're looking for a place to watch a game, definitely go to firefly. They have at least ten projection screen tv's, great wings, and friendly staff.
We had to wait for a table, so we started with drinks at the bar. The bartenders were awesome. She made me a mean cocktail and got my friends drinks out fast.
At the table, our waitress was equally awesome. She convinced us to get a keg of miller lite for the game, and I definitely don't regret that decision! The food was good too, the wings and seared tuna salad were my fav. Throughout the game, she took good care of us and was really hilarious and friendly.
I definitely recommend this place. Probably gonna come back for superbowl.
First time here. I visited firefly for the first time last week and I absolutely loved it! We went there on a Saturday night and had a blast. The dj played really fun, obscure music that you don't typically hear in other bars. She (the dj) even took a few requests from us. All in all we had a great time and definitely will be returning.
Racist Call. I was out with few friends celebrating a birthday. We were sitting at the bar for about 45 minutes having drinks. Shortly after ordering a second round, a man entered ,checked us out for a couple of seconds and walked toward the back. A minute latter, the bartender handed us the check asking us to pay it. At first I though the bartender was closing up his shift and needed to settle the check but he said that the owner (the guy that checked us out) told him to ask us to leave. I approached the owner and wanted to know the reason, his answer was that none of us had American Ids. The bouncer was very pleasant and we had no problem getting in. That was a totally racist call for some very unprofessional reason where at Firefly, the color of your skin dictates the rules if you can stay and have to be asked to leave. Very sad to experience in NYC in the 21 st Century.
A must for a true sports fan.
As I wrote on Yelp,
Living in the neighborhood and being an avid sports fan I was looking for a place my out of town friends and I could really get into March Madness. Immediately thought of Firefly for some good drinks, food and fun.
We were not disappointed.
As busy as it was we were able to promptly get our gnosh and our drinks and cheer DUKE! Totally coming back for final game.
Having been in the business, I was surprised at how efficient the bartenders were. In particular I was pleased to see ex Mexican Radio bartender Johnny G serving us. SO glad he's still in the neighborhood!!
Granted the amount of Pita bread you get is pathetic, the fried chicken and sliders are amazing. And it's always nice when the bartender actually pays attention to your needs no matter how many people are screaming for drinks. Definitely will now be a repeat customer on Johnny's nights even if a game isn't on.
great times, dont miss out!.
I have been to Firefly many times with my family and groups of friends. The people working there always remember us, and are extremely friendly. Service was friendly and professional and the food was delicious. The prices are reasonable and it's a nice atmosphere.
This is also a great place to watch games. I think they have around 16 large screens- AMAZING! No matter where you sit you are guaranteed a great view of the game. Definitely one of the best places in the city to watch any game. I highly recommend this place as do my friends and family. You wont be disappointed!
Excellent games. Love this place! Coming back for March Madness, 1st time was last year. TV's are great! You can see any game from any angle! Good crowd for games, staff is cute and you can get a beer tower for all your friends at a table. Nice experience, def be back next year!
Second times a charm.
I called into this bar last year to meet somebody for a quick drink. I thought the bar looked nice but i took very little notice as it was only a short visit.
I visited again recently with a group of friends for a meal and we had an amazing time. The bar was quite crowded because of some ice hockey game but we were sat very quickly and made feel very welcome by a friendly waitress with blonde hair. Our food came out quickly and was really tasty and we ended up staying longer then expected with the help of some very tasty cocktails.
Im glad i came back again to feel the charm of this bar and ill be making a return visit.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Firefly is the claustrophobic sports fan's paradise. Atypically spacious, patrons can watch the game without cramming into a tight space only to struggle for a glimpse of the TV. Whether you relax in a cushiony booth in the bar area up front or at a table in the larger back room, you should have an unobstructed view of one of 16 HD flat-screens. Glorified pub grub treats like mini burgers and pulled pork sandwich sliders are available. When the game is over, the venue transforms into more of a dance club, which also results in a shift in the crowd.
